kotaku.com/5011761/footage-of-samus-in-marvel-ultimate-allianceI didn't know where else to put this, so I figured it'd be a lost cameo kind of thing. Seems Activision wanted to plop Samus (who's shown in the link above) and Link into Marvel Ultimate Alliance to add some flair to the Wii port of the game, liek EA has done with some of their titles (SSX Tricky, Fight Night, NBA Street V.3), but Nintendo said no. Just thought I'd share this.

I remember this video from a while ago. Makes sense, but it has to be fake because it's on the Sony version. What's up with that?

It's not fake. The fact that it started out on the Sony version was the reason Nintendo said no in the first place.

I'm calling BS on this one. I don't think a professional group like Activision would make a mistake like "Chozo Blood Rights".

I find it hard to believe that a company would invest time into making Samus playable without even having permission.
Though I don't understand the corporate world....

Nah they probably do this all the time. Permissions can take quite a while to get. I bet Sakurai had the Sonic model and animations done way before they decided to put him in smash. And they probably had several unused 3rd party character models as well as the Models of those who appeared in the game text.

Yeah. That's exactly what happened. The whole thing is legit, and I bet the characters can be hacked using Action Replay or whatever.
Speaking of Action Replay...has one been made for the Wii yet?

No and they probably won't for a while due to Nintendo being a dick.

And they probably had several unused 3rd party character models as well as the Models of those who appeared in the game text. Which explains why Sonic is in so many cutscenes for The Subspace Emissary. No, he doesn't seem like a last-minute inclusion at all. Neither do Wolf, Toon Link or Jigglypuff, for that matter. I mean, it only makes perfect sense to waste time, manpower and money on something that might not even come to pass. Nintendo execs were probably giving Sakurai head over that decision.
This video is terribly, awfully fake. I've played through Marvel: UA several times and, while the area Samus is in very roughly resembles the introductory level, there's no place in the game that's actually like where the footage was filmed in. Not to mention the model graphics look like they were built with an N64 game engine. It's like putting a midget in line with the elephant man and saying they're identical twins.
