YES
This is one of the games that has made me think about buying a 360.

SICK! I wanted this game really badly. I am like.. the biggest fan of zombie flicks, George Romero, etc. etc. Now it's coming out for Wii!

There have been hints that Capcom was planning on dropping one more bombshell. At first, everyone thought it was Spyborgs. Then they thought it was Flock. I guess, after all, it turns out to be this. And I'm not a bit disappointed!
What's interesting is that Capcom has resisted porting the game to the PS3. But if the Wii can get some form of Dead Rising, then does it leave the door open for some form of Resident Evil 5?

I'll probably get this even though I already have the original. I do hope they'll add some extra content, though.

Well, I heard this was a sequel to Dead Rising. Not a remake.

You heard wrong. The scans show the same concept art, characters and environment from the original game.

New info - www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3168849Talks about what's new, what's been removed, and a new title: Dead Rising: Zombie Sacrifice. The camera now working like RE4 is a plus.

Somebody on Capcom's message board was asking Christian Svensson why they were porting Dead Rising instead of Lost Planet. He replied, "Let’s discuss next week. I can’t comment until then when a bit more will be clear." So, perhaps there's more news on the way... ( Source)

Double post! 2 hit combo! Capcom has officially announced the Wii version of Dead Rising for release in North America this winter. The game will be retitled "Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop". (Very funny, Capcom.) Apparently, the game is running on the RE4: Wii Edition engine, and it has an improved save system (a prominent complaint of the 360 version). EDIT: Capcom's Christian Svensson pointed out that the Wii version is not a port but a recreation, and that there will be many differences from the original game. ( Source)

i kind of liked the subtitle Zombie Sacrifice more. If it's running on the RE4 engine, it'll need some heavy graphical work. The shots I saw were not as impressive as RE4 by any means.

Here is the first gameplay footage from Chop Till You Drop. You won't see very many zombies, but it does look like it will play a lot like RE4 Wii Edition, and that can't be a bad thing. (The developers are still trying to squeeze more zombies in, tho.) 1up.com also has a hands-on preview that goes into more detail between the differences of the original and Wii versions.
