Probably one of the most exciting games mentioned at E3 for Nintendo.
Were there pics or videos? How does the game look?

All they showed was a logo, said it was in a modern day Liberty City and said it was out "this holiday season"... which means we have nothing to actually get excited over.
And frankly... it's on DS! I'm not entirely sure it'll be that exciting anyway!

There is also a website* up for the game that show the blue Wi-Fi connection logo is there. So there is some sort of online in the game.
* No there were't any images from the game on the site.

So no one knows if its 3D or not?
Fuck it then. I'll just buy Liberty City Stories for the PSP.

I wonder if it takes place in GTA3 or GTA4's Liberty City. Neither had a very large or prominent Chinatown, if I recall.

BUMP! I'll like to point out the following info is a RUMOR. So don't get your hopes up. A survey about GTA: CW was supposedly sent and contained the following info about stuff in the game. -AD HOC MULTIPLAYER: With wi-fi connectivity, players can play each other head to head in four different game modes, including a race (seven different race maps, can race with all the game vehicles), and play co-op modes. -LENGTH OF GAMEPLAY: 70+ missions, 20+ hours of straight gameplay—with significant replayability on top of those 20+ hours. -STYLUS BASED MINI GAMES: Missions include a wide variety of contextual mini-games, such as assembling a sniper rifle to complete an assassination mission, and smashing locks and hotwiring cars to steal them. -REPLAYABLE MISSIONS: A feature that allows you to jump to any completed mission from a convenient menu and play them again. (In case you’re still not convinced that this is for GTA, question 18 locks it down…) 18. The title of this new game is called Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars, by Rockstar Games. Now how interested are you in buying the game? Source.

No licensed tracks then, eh?
It'd be cool if we get Nintendo music. I'd love to start a prostitution ring while listening to Song of Storms!

First pictures! Well, it doesn't look that bad. At least its 3D and looks better than the original PS1 games.

More new info from this preview of the game.- contains more lines of code than GTA: San Andreas - Huang Lee’s PDA acts much like the cell phone from GTA IV - access Ammu-nation through the PDA - Ammu-nation is now an online store that delivers weapons to your safehouse - earn trophies that will be displayed in your safehouse - your safehouse features a whiteboard full of contacts. Touch photos to access missions you’ve received - view online leaderboards through whiteboard - select weapons via PDA screen - action pauses once you tap touch screen - tracer lines for fire are over-exaggerated to give you a better idea of how weapons fire - touch grenade/molotov icon to activate a toss. The icon will turn into a target circle, and you’ll drag a line in the direction you want to throw. Trajectory is displayed on the top screen - assemble a sniper rifle via the touch screen - safe cracking uses audio hints as you turn the dial - slide a screwdriver into the ignition to steal cars - flip coins into toll booths - dig through garbage for items

bumpage
comes out this week. apparently rather fuck awesome. 20 to 30 hours length. feels like a real gta not some cheap cash in. also, has a second retry option called 'trip skip' where you can skip the driving around part at the start of a mission when you retry it - that alone makes it better than gta iv.
i will be buying. will you be also?

So X-Play reviewed this game, giving it a 5/5 and calling it a must have for the DS. Nice.
