The question here is: What does it feel when playing online?
Mine is that it has some pretty obvious lags and there are quite a number of idle players.
I've brawled twice online, and the first one felt quite laggy. Only my Ike and a DDD opponent move, and we played while ignoring the standing-dead Luigi ad Samus.
The second was smoother. It lagged during the opening animation, but animation-wise the rest was fine. Th game however was still quite irresponsive. This time was better, with my DDD and the other Peach player very active and Wario moves ost of the time, but there is still a Mario corpse!
And by saying this yeah, I finally got Brawl (the main reason is that I wanted to play as DDD so badly), My FC is 5284-3665-8891 and, if anyone attempts to add me in, tell me you did so that I could add yours back as well.
But it seems arranging online plays would be hard... the only online play I had with any NinDBer would be one with BooDestroyer on a few Mario Kart Races, and that I lost 100% of all time!

Once you and your rival(s) own a decent Internet speed and you're not so far from each other, one thing I complain about is the difficulty on guiding a PK Thunder accurately . Of course, I've seen people who use PK Thunder perfectly even with lag.

My online experience with Brawl has varied. It often plays just fine, but sometimes it'll get terribly laggy and pretty much unplayable (both with friends and "with anyone"). But it was worse back when I first got the game earlier in the year. It's also seems much easier to find people for "with anyone" matches.
I'll add your friend code, but I don't know when. I haven't really bothered to play Brawl since the Gamer Day.

Most of my matches start with some impressive lag, but it often clears up. But this even happens with all local players, which is ridiculous.

It's all going to depend on your internet connection. If your connection is good then you'll probably be fine, but if not expect lag.

Got something to add... Is it that Brawl has a lot to transfer between consoles? Online matches Ihad with Mario Kart Wii is pretty smooth! (although those with Tetris DS and Mario Kart DS are very laggy with frequent disconnection of other players) I'll add your friend code, but I don't know when. I haven't really bothered to play Brawl since the Gamer Day. Then I need yours too. You don't seem to have posted one in your sig.

Most of the times I play it works out fine. But most of the time after 2 matches it gets so laggy. It goes 3......(20 seconds later)......2.......(another 20 seconds).........1...............(again 20 seconds).........and then when it says 'GO!' The 'GO!'stays on the screen for ages. And I can't get out. I have to turn off my Wii and re-boot the game again. It gets anyonning....so that's why I don't play online as much anymore.

I've only ever have one game so bad my Wii has locked up. And apparently I've played a lot more games than I thought

This topic isn't really getting "too old" eh...? Well, I'll just use this topic to post my "new" stuff.
I've just finished a few more online matches. The lag is still very notieable, but at least the problem of idle players is no longer there.
The new problem, however, is that the certain group I was in seem to know that I'm not skilled in Brawling (actually, I don't play ANY videogame well) and attacked me agressively... imagine this: My Kirby is totally outmatched by the enemy Marth, and Jgglypuff doesn't help by shooting crackers to me, not letting me recover. When I finally get KO'd, the stationary Ganondorf laughed with an evil grin.
Seems that while Sakurai's initial idea of online play is to give an environment that players wo't feel bad about, the truth is that, not knowing who the players are, I can't even have my revenge!
Why can't I simply play a smooth game with equal chances of winning and losing like in Mario Kart Wii? (from my experience, the chances of getting 1st to 12th is really close to 1:1:1:1:1:1:1:1:1:1:1:1)
