I want to see if there are anyone who hasnot but Brawl yet, but has plans to buy it.
I am asking because I want you to try this for me once you finally get the game:
- Play 5 normal Brawls. - Unlock Ness. - Go to Options, and delete Brawl Records. - Go to Group Record of Data. There should be nothing left in it. - Go to Braw Record. I want to see what are emptied and what are not. - See if Ness is still alive.
Unlike Melee, I could not make a backup copy before performing such a dangerous experiment. And also unlike Melee, there is no option to kill the "hidden characters" and "hidden stages" alone, so I am not quite ure about what will happen to them.
Melee is better than Brawl. Again. In one more aspect.
Anyway, this is what happens when you delete the battle records in Melee: The battle records, as in the wins-and-losses count, is emptied. The data of who does most KOes, who is used most frequently and such is also deleted. However, the number of how many Melees are played, and how many, under each mode, are played, remains intact.
-------------
As an alternative, I could just turn my eyes away and get over with the whole "I want to keep the records perfect" thing. The paradox of Smash Bros is that you need to break one thing to obtain another. There's simply no "perfect save file".
-------------
If everything fails, perhaps I'll try that myself... I've unlocked less than half of the hidden stuff, so it should be fine; I just don't like how the game keep track of everything.

...Does it really matter? What could you possibly need to re-unlock characters?
Just um... do it. Tadah. You can try for your so called perfect save file (it's prolly some unrequired and ridiculous info, right? Cause I don't see what's wrong with my file. You use Golden Hammers, you get other trophies the hard way.)

Why don't you copy your save file to an SD card, delete the original and try it yourself from scratch? When you've checked, copy your original file back.
Does that work?

The save files only go by each console. Unfortunately... since if I brought Brawl to a friend's I would have no secret characters unless he had the game at some point and unlocked them.

You can still copy it to an SD card. I don't know what you're talking about, Dasher. He'll be using it for his own Wii, not someone elses.

Whoa, whoa, whoa... I expected this thread to have a zero reply. ...Does it really matter? What could you possibly need to re-unlock characters? Just um... do it. Tadah. You can try for your so called perfect save file (it's prolly some unrequired and ridiculous info, right? Cause I don't see what's wrong with my file. You use Golden Hammers, you get other trophies the hard way.) It's not that I want to unlock stuff again, but I hate the way that the game keeps reminding me that "you're a Dedede player" or "you're a Ganondorf hater"; or "You win 99.9% of all time and you'll never regain that 0.1%" (cause a broken zero ratio will never be zero again). It makes me want to either change that record or keep it - thus damaging the potential for me to try other modes and characters. Why don't you copy your save file to an SD card, delete the original and try it yourself from scratch? When you've checked, copy your original file back. Does that work? Must I quote myself to answer that? Unlike Melee, I could not make a backup copy before performing such a dangerous experiment. And also unlike Melee, there is no option to kill the "hidden characters" and "hidden stages" alone, so I am not quite ure about what will happen to them. You can still copy it to an SD card. Hmm, yeah I'll be using on my own Wii regardless, but it's also true that I can't copy it to an SD card. From what I know so far, the following games annot have their save file copied: - Any Nintendo game not on GC or Wii (yeah, we all know that) - Anything that contains "Pokémon" in the title (you can't clone Pokémon!) - Anything that contains "Fire Emblem' in the title (Some other story-heavy games would probably do that as well) - Anything that goes online (I heard it's because of the Friend Code thingy)

My save file currently has most damage dealt as Mr. Game & Watch and most damage received as Jigglypuff - mainly because I used them in my CD Factory. I wonder how long it will be until those stats correct themselves

Trust me, we've tried. Mario Kart Wii will not do this either. EDIT:Most damage is Ike I beleive. Everyone uses him.
