Some info about an old cancelled Kirby game has come up. It was going to be called Kid Kirby and star Kirby when he was a kid (and even has a strand of hair). It was going to be on the SNES. The game was being developed by DMA Design (Uniracers, Lemmings, GTA3 fame). Pictures. And this last one is a magazine scan And then there is some textures possibly relating to the game on one of the developers Flickr accounts.

God, I can't pic ture anyone doing a Kirby game besides HAL or Nintendo. Besides. Kirby is already a kid, well maybe even younger.

Wow! This is the first time I have ever heard of this!
I like the design for Kid Kirby, and it's a shame it never came out. And to really screw with your heads, DMA Design is now known as Rockstar North! Grand Theft Dedede here we come! ;D

Very interesting. But Kirby was already called a "little boy" for KDL, so there's something wrong with the title. A kiddy version of Kirby? Amazing! ;D This only got revealed about 1 or 2 days ago, so no one (except the developers) knew about it. Actually, there are people who knew about it before, since it was mentioned in a 1995 issue of the Mexican Club Nintendo magazine (scan above). I didn't know about the game before, too, but it's actually somewhat strange that this game needed over a decade to become known around the web. Furthermore, I noticed that the images on Flickr were already uploaded one year ago.

Kirby may be young now, but who's to say the game wouldn't of starred him as a baby? Mario did it, why couldn't Kirby...?

Am I the only one to be happy to see this thing cancelled? Things like this can possibly damage Kirby's image... I guess. We surely need some good developer for platforming games for makng Kirby... and Kirby not by HAL is simply strange. I think it would be good for Nintendo to experiment instead of throwing out the same games over and over again.

We surely need some good developer for platforming games for makng Kirby... Yep, and clearly the only competent 2D platformer developers are Nintendo and HAL. A fantastic developer like this could never handle it, right.

I read about it two days ago or so, and it seems odd. I'd like to find out more about it, though.

I knew about this game (I´m from mexico after all) but never mentioned because All I had to back it up was the poster as it apear in the “Club Nindendo“ magazine, and due to the crappy cuality of the 3D in it I thought everyone would call it a Hoax,
Club Nintendo had some nice exclusive stuff, Cp. Syrup original artwork came from that magazine (I scaned and uploaded here some years ago) here is also a little bit of artwork that I havent seen anywhere (some from DK 94, some from Wario Land) a poster from That 3D figthing game Nintendo was publishing for the Snes signed by Stan Lee, but I think everything else can be found in the web now (BTW Kirby Tilt 'N' Tumble wasn´t developed by HAL but Nintendo RD2 and I think its planed GC sequel was also, Kirby does had a insane amount of cancelled games)

Really weird. Reminds me of Ristar's beta, with Kirby looking so different. The tile graphics remind me of the Genesis too for some reason.
Also Kid Dedede gives me the creeps.

Ah yes. That was the age of wacky promotional renders for everything. Nintendo Power has loads of 'em.

Not just promotional renders, the German Club Nintendo magazine had whole comics (drawn by Japanese artists) of that stuff ( learn more). Only see that Kirby comic (with unofficial English translation). Kirby is... dirty.
