While cleaning out your room, you find "EarthBound", sitting right there, between "Toy Story" and "Aero the Acro-bat". You insert it. You were on Twoson. The soothing music brings a tear to your eye. You beat this game twice, once in 1995, the other in 1997, and one more in 1999. You never touched it after they cancelled Mother 3.
Are there any games that you hear the music, see the screen, and you start crying remembering the cold night inside your grandfather's old house?
I did.
My games I remember are:
EarthBound Pokemon Yellow Zelda: A Link to the Past Zelda: Ocarina of Time
What's yours?

Super Mario 64 still brings back memories of the day I first plugged in my N64. Sooo excited!
Diddy Kong Racing brings back pain. I completed the regular mode after days of difficult slogging through it... and when I was told I'd unlocked the hard mode I hardly ever played it again.
I'll always remember really annoying a friend by ignoring him and not playing a multiplayer game (forcing him to storm off home) so I could pull the Master Sword from the pedastal in Link to the Past ;D

Mario 64 does it for me!
But with certain handheld games...you know when you're playing with the sound off to save power, but you need to be listening to something, so you put the radio on, and for some reason certain songs come on a lot during certain games...whenever I hear DJ Casper's Cha Cha Slide, I am forever reminded of Final Fantasy Tactics Advance.
"To the left, take it back now y'all, one hop this time..."

Funny you bring up music. I was listening to Fatboy Slim's "Right Here, Right Now" earlier today, and it brought back memories of Space Station: Silicon Valley - a game I once owned, but alas it drowned in Coca-Cola during a drunken party. Ahh, games are awesome

Ah-hah. Let's see, My Super Famicom is still living well, and because of that... I didn't lost my memories in these 15 years! I have nothing to miss! Nothing to make me excited/etc.
But this reminds me of the day when I visited my relative, I picked up a DS .... for the first time..... Actually, at that time, I thought that was just very great! It's not that I've never played touch screen game, but it's my very first time to play WarioWare on that thing!
Well, other than that I probably have no special memory about games.

I remember Silicon Valley. The best animal was the Turtle Tank, the Penguin King, and the dog with missiles. And then there was that mission where you collect the heads. ( wierded out ) Ah.. good times. I hated that game. Good thing I traded it in for Mario Tennis.

I remember playing Super Mario Kart and the rush to get Koopa as your playable character (he was everyone's favourite, because, you know, he ruled).

I always used to rush to get Luigi in "Mario Kart 64"... You all needed to know that... for some reason... ;D

Blimey... did you even need to rush? A friend of mine did get an awesome time on Ghost Valley 1 with Luigi though. He took those corners like a master! But I always hated losing the "Koopa Troopa" rush. Ended up using Toad. Bulbous-headed freak man!

But I always hated losing the "Koopa Troopa" rush. Ended up using Toad. Bulbous-headed freak man! That won't cost you much time, so that's fine if you miss that. This reminds me of when playing MK64's Koopa Troopa beach.... (Why Koopa Troopa beach? Does the game have any Koopa Troopas at all?) I always tried to get through the big rock nea the exit of the shortcut. And I always fall down. Among my every 20 attempts, only 1 of them would be done successful. (As for MKDD's Mushroom bridge dash, I never managed to do it without falling.)

The big rock after the first bend is in the shape of a Koopa Troopa. Other than that, it's probably just named after the Koopa Troopa Beach stages from Super Mario Kart.

Koopa Troopa beach courses all have good shortcuts - why SC replaced it with Shy Guy Beach (or whatever it was) and DD replaced it with Peach Beach is beyond me. DS better right that wrong - infact, Koopa Troopa Beach 64 and the first one from SMK would be great Retro courses.
Regarding Koopa Beach 64, I much preferred using the sand bar as a slight shortcut which cut off a bit of time as it didn't require the pinpoint accuracy of the hole in the mountain. But thats just me.
