Atari: Sometimes made successes and sometimes made failures. This company made some games that were half as magical as Namco's games from the '80s and '90s, but still fun. What do Atari and Chuck E. Cheese's have in common? They were both founded by Nolan Bushnell. Right now, they are in the hands of Midway Games, which I don't have anything to say about that company. Midway shut down Atari Games years ago. It no longer exists. The only Atari now is the rebranded Infogrames.

There's also these two Western companies
Blizzard Entertainment: If a project doesn't meet their demands, it gets canned like that. The games they do release however are very well done.
Lucas Arts: Once king of the point and click genre, now just making average Star Wars games and spinoffs, even going as far as cancelling a Full Throttle sequel twice in favor of another Star Wars game.

Don't forget Sam & Max. Which segues nicely into talking about Telltale Games, my current favourite developer. They release awesome games on a monthly schedule, give you disc versions of their games for only the cost of shipping if you paid for the downloads, and talk to their fans in an awesome relaxed way every day on their forum.

^ I imagine they did since Midway developed sequels to Atari Games' old franchises like L.A. Rush and Narc in 2005. Not to mention the Midway Arcade Treasures collections.
I think Infogrames owns the rights to Atari Corp's (the home console division) games, but I'm not exactly sure.

Nintendo Best known for actually standing out from other companies and coming up with fun, memorable characters and properties that no one else can come up with. While they've been putting out some good titles for the Wii and DS, they're playing the "appeal to casual folk" card way too much, a lot more than they really should. Find a better way to appeal to everyone, Nintendo. Animated series of your properties for exposure to draw people towards your games.
Capcom Capcom has been notorious for their very unhealthy obsession with crossing over with other companies. I sincerely hope Nintendo VS Capcom never happens. I just can't see Nintendo's franchises being expected to put up with Capcom's cheesy, cliche anime-esque bullshit.
Rare Very inventive back when they were with Nintendo. Indifferent about them now.

Actually Nintendo vs Capcom would own 10x as much as Nintendo vs Sega, hope this helps.

Nintendo X Disney would own 20x more, hope this helps. ;D
Capcom's gone so far with this that it wouldn't surprise me one bit if Disney VS Capcom ever did come around.

Okay, you always bring this up, but now I feel I need to voice my opinion on it. Nintendo vs. Disney would not be awesome. It would be another excuse for people to make fun of Nintendo. See, Nintendo is like the kid that no one wants to hang out with. He's the guy who eats lunch all by himself but still has a sense of pride. He sees Square Enix hanging out with Disney and that brings Disney's popularity up, but Sqenix's down. If Nintendo were to hang out with Disney, Nintendo's would go down. I mean really, how many people were pissed off at Kingdom Hearts and thought it was just a kids game because it had Disney characters? Everyone I know. But Capcom is an awesome company with awesome franchises. So what is more badass. Dante or Donald? Ryu or Mickey? Mega Man or Goofy? I'll let everyone else be the judge.

Your perception of Nintendo is very inaccurate. Nintendo is very respected and everyone wants to hang out with it. It's those stupid teenagers who have this idea that video games need to be "cool" that don't hang with Nintendo, and those only exist in America. Probably Europe too, but I don't live there. They're a naive group that need spikey hair and badass attitudes to make them happy. Despite this, many others have a large respect for Nintendo for their ingenious franchises and would probably love to be along side Nintendo.
This applies to Disney too. Well... Original Disney. Disrespected by the young and naive, that's why Disney is turning to that Hanna girl and that High School Musical crap lately instead of their original genius they used to be known for.
That original genius however was recognized by Square. Proof that these creative companies (at least in Japan) still respect classic Disney.
If Square was American, I would never see this happening unless the Jonas Brothers were involved.

Sure, I respect Disney, and I respect Nintendo, but I would not want them together. Both Nintendo and Disney seem to be known as being geared towards children. It doesn't mean they are, but all my friends have 360's and would never be caught with a Wii.
Does that make them pretentious? Yes, but this is sadly the majority of America.
I loved Kingdom Hearts, and it gave me a new perspective on Disney. I just wish more people could've had that experience. But until people do, no Nintendo vs. Disney.
Nintendo would have to be pared with something more badass like Sega or Capcom or maybe even Namco.

In all honesty, I'm not particularly interested in the idea anymore. Just a way of going right back at em there.
Good points there, Koopaul. Disney's old stuff was good then, not this Hannah Montana crap now.

As awesome as a Nintendo vs. Capcom fighter would be, I still say that a Nintendo X Sega RPG could very well be the greatest thing since Segagaga. If anything were to give us a chance to see Sega's pre-dropout franchises again, this is definitely it.

I forgot to add:
Square-Enix Can't stand their uber-boring RPGs with barely any gameplay and are the equivalent of watching trees grow.
And I don't outright -hate- Capcom. I wasn't implying that I do when I merely said they were overdoing that act (especially at this rate, can you say MUGEN?). And it's just that the majority of their games come off in that type of manner. I do love the original Mega Man games, Phoenix Wright has interested me by quite a lot, and I've got my Street Fighter II on a lot back in the day (haven't caught on with it recently for some reason, I don't know).
Hate to say, but I'm more anti-Square than anything. XP
