As I've been doing this, I've been questioning whether the system I used is fair or not. I broke down the tiers based on what the highest valued bit of content each series managed to get, with Characters, Assists, Bosses, and Stages being the highest. Since all of the World Symbol series ended up having two or more of the above categories and there aren't any series whose highest valued category is Items, the second highest tier goes up to Assists, third is Songs, fourth is Trophies and the lowest is Stickers. I can tell you right now that all of the 5th Teir series aren't gonna get any higher than the 4th Teir ones, since most of them only have like 1 or 2 stickers tops. You think maybe I should've given the Character, Boss, Assist, and Stage categories different point values?

I would say having a playable character would have more value than having a sticker... but then if you're just tagging how many references each had in the game, then 1 point each also has its benefits.

Of course playable characters are more valuable than stickers. I said so in the original post. The reason I stuck with the different point values is because some franchises got a better treatment that others by default. I mean, wouldn't you agree that getting a playable character means you're considered far more important than getting bunch of stickers? The point values are based on signs of importance, basically. Guess I'll have to stick with what I have for now. I essentially just calmed my own worries.

No no, I know - was just pointing out the benefits of both methods Your lists have shown some interesting points, although the scoring system isn't really based on anything other than an arbitrary points system you created. But they're not unreasonable. Whereas one point each would also produce an interesting list... especially if spread over all the games.

OK, so I got off my butt and managed to pull out one more for the night.
Tier 3 The best these series got was at least one song on the soundtrack.
1080 Songs: 1 Stickers: 3
3D Hot Rally Songs: 1 Stickers: 1
Balloon Fight Songs: 1 Stickers: 2
Big Brain Academy Songs: 1 Stickers: 2
Brain Age Songs: 1
Chosoju Mecha MG Songs: 1 Trophies: 4 Stickers: 4
Clu Clu Land Songs: 1 Trophies: 1
DS Cooking Navi Songs: 1 Stickers: 1
Nazo no Murasamejo Songs: 1 Stickers: 1
Panel de Pon Songs: 1 Trophies: 1 Stickers: 5
Shin Onigashima Songs: 1 Stickers: 1
Tetris Songs: 2
Wii (both the hardware and any games in the Wii [something] series) Songs: 4
X Songs: 1 Stickers: 1
Category Winners Songs: Wii Trophies: Chosoju Mecha MG Stickers: Panel de Pon
Final Ranking 1- Chosoju Mecha MG- 15 points 2- Wii- 12 3- Panel de Pon- 10 4- 1080- 6 4- Tetris- 6 5- Balloon Fight- 5 5- Big Brain Academy- 5 6- 3D Hot Rally- 4 6- Clu Clu Land- 4 6- DS Cooking Navi- 4 6- Nazo no Murasamejo- 4 6- Shin Onigashima- 4 6- X- 4 7- Brain Age- 3
Comments Not really much to say here other than the fact that the rankings would probably look quite a bit different if my point system were different. Maybe I'll go back and try Fry's suggestion once I've finished this in it's current form. Teir 4 comes up next time.

OK, I know this is a double post, but it's not my fault nobody wants to post here anymore. So here's the next update.
Tier 4 These series were lucky enough to at least get a collectible Trophy.
Chibi-Robo Trophies: 2 Stickers: 6
Hotel Dusk Trophies: 1 Stickers: 3
Magical Vacation Trophies: 3 Stickers: 8
Ouendan Trophies: 2 Stickers: 9
Soccer Trophies: 1
Super Scope 6 Trophies: 1
Trace Memory Trophies: 1 Stickers: 4
Category Winners Trophies: Magical Vacation Stickers: Ouendan
Final Rankings 1- Magical Vacation- 14 points 2- Ouendan- 13 3- Chibi-Robo- 10 4- Trace Memory- 6 5- Hotel Dusk- 5 6- Soccer- 2 6- Super Scope 6- 2
Comments I'm actually a bit suprised that Magical Vacation managed to get three trophies, none of which were borrowed from an already existing game. For a game like Brawl, that's a bit of a record setter. Anyway, we're getting down the wire, and the last Tier is actually pretty stupid since it's mostly comprised of series that got one sticker and nothing else. I think I really am gonna re-do this using Fry's suggestion after it's finished.

I told you this part was stupid. It's only been about ten minutes since I posted the previous update, and here this one is.
Tier 5 All these games got were a few lousy stickers. That's why there's no Category Winners and I'm skipping right to the Final Ranking.
1- Digiluxe- 5 points 2- Sennen Kazoku- 4 2- Wave Race- 4 3- Card Hero- 3 4- Slide Adventure MAGKID- 2 4- Stunt Race FX- 2 5- Duck Hunt- 1 5- English Training- 1 5- For the Frog the Bell Tolls- 1 5- Ice Hockey- 1 5- Joy Mecha Fight- 1 5- Mach Rider- 1 5- Pilotwings- 1 5- Wild Gunman- 1 5- Yakuman- 1
Comments I know I'm known for being a know-it-all when it comes to these things, but what the hell is Digiluxe and why did it get so many stickers? I looked around the main site and couldn't find it documented there, so what gives?

CommentsI know I'm known for being a know-it-all when it comes to these things, but what the hell is Digiluxe and why did it get so many stickers? I looked around the main site and couldn't find it documented there, so what gives? Digiluxe was the english name (but only used in SSBB) to the Japanese only Bit Generations series for the GBA. The games were then rebranded with the new english name of Art Style when remakes/sequels of them were released on WiiWare and some more Art Style games will be heading to the DSi's DSiWare download service.

Wow, I'm surprised Pokemon didn't make it to 1st place! I'm also surprised EarthBound's in the top 10! Great job, let's hope this is a resource used all across the interwebs, and Fry puts it on his site (but not as dramatic). mayhaps you'll do this to the next smash bros?

Thanks for that, Robot. I also went back and changed the font size to normal. I decided I liked it better that way.

OK this mo'nin' (this mo'nin', this mo-mi-mo-mi-mo-mo'nin') I decided to rank the series based on the amount of references each got as opposed to the value of each specfic kind of reference, like Fry suggested. Let's see if there are any differences.
