Costumed theme park characters are designed to entertain small children.
These are designed to appeal to the sexual tastes of smelly geeks like us. I can totally see where Kirb is coming from. XT

How do you compared them to the characters costumes in Theme Parks? Not the same thing. When I go to Disneyland, I get a kick out of seeing my favourite characters given life, wandering the park. Hey, look! There's Donald Duck! And, more importantly, there isn't a fat sweaty guy caressing him in a suggestive manner. And if there was, it would not be considered appropriate behavior. See where I'm coming from here? The Krystal costume was good, and if it was surrounded by other Star Fox costumes and used to promote a new Star Fox game, or appearing at a Nintendo theme park, I'd be totally okay with it. But instead it's surrounded by other terrifying furry abominations who don't seem to be any character in particular, all highly sexualized and dressed provocatively. And it's appearing in what seems to be a very small convention where the main attraction seems to be said furry abominations being observed by creeps who can't get off to regular women. No, I don't want it, I don't want this bad medicine. It just doesn't look like a legit convention to me. The "booths" were tiny and seemed to contain no merchandise. They had chairs on each side of the table. The regular person-cosplayer ratio was all wrong. And every cosplayer was a nondescript furry.

Not that I think furry's are bad (everyone has their own sexual tastes and I can't stop anyone from having 'em). I just find it odd when people draw themselves as these weird anthropomorphic creatures that look...just...creepy. Also...

Psh you think that's creepy. That's nothing compared to the things I've been unfortunate to run into.
Still, very profession Krystal costume probably cost a ton of money to make.

Slightly off-topic, and I'm sure I'm behind the times on this (I haven't been to a Disney park in six years), but did you know they have a Mickey costume that talks now?
Cosplayers have some work to do to catch up with this!

I'm guessing that's only at the California park, since I've never been there and never seen this before. On our last trip to Disneyland I was talking about how cool it'd be if they did this, and it looks like they beat me to it!

Just sayin'. Someone here should've mentioned Mansty from Anime Boston. All I can say is, without the Misty costume, I'd be turned on. *awaits stunned silence*

Jurassic Park cosplay!
I'm surprised that little jeep is actually strong enough to move him around. (also served hand of Ray Arnold)

Okay, this is super-late, but here's the run-down from my ConnectiCon/AnimeFEST visits this year: BEST (ConnectiCon)Poe (Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time) Deadpool (dig the bulge!) Daft Punk WORST (ConnectiCon)Captain Planet BEST (AnimeFEST)Agent Washington (Red vs. Blue) Battle Damaged Fire Mario Tommy Wiseau as the Joker WORST (AnimeFEST) Rainbow Dash + Wonderbolt (My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic) (I only say this is bad because of how halfassed the Wonderbolt cosplay is. Bleh.) Phazon Suit Samus Bass (Megaman) (Props where it's due, though...the helmet is pretty awesome.) Oh yeah, and then there's this sexy beast who was clearly the best out of everyone: Just who is that mysterious, begoggled sex fiend? Someone here should've mentioned Mansty from Anime Boston. All I can say is, without the Misty costume, I'd be turned on. *awaits stunned silence* I've heard weirder crossplay turn-ons. Some people actually think Man-Faye is really sexy.

That Mario girl looks like a combination of two girls I dated...one after the other. Needless to say, she's pretty hawt.
And I lol'd hard at "Wiseau Serious". Very clever.
