(No matter what Masamune really meant and maybe as an answer to Woodchuck) I don't remember it ever being stated OoT was a remake of ALttP, either. Though in pre-release pictures of 1996 to 1997, there were a few familiar things seen in previous 2-D games, like the Turtle Rock entrance (ALttP and LA). It's believed that this head became the entrance to the second section of Dodongo's Cavern in the release of the game. One interesting thing regarding controls in The Ocarine of Time (its provisional name back then) was that you were going to be able to use combinations of weapons when pressing two buttons simultaneously. This was actually first seen in LA and later explicitly in TP. The combination of an arrow and a bow was used as an example of this. Who knows if it was going to be better used with the magical arrows, kind of like what we saw in The Wind Waker when you were required to press L or R on your GameCube controller while aiming your arrows in order to turn them into Fire, Ice or Light arrows.

Another feature from ALttP was going to the ability to shoot energy blasts from Link sword when he was at full health.
Now I really hope that returns in 3D Zelda game built for the Wii (it could use the pointer).

That wasn't from ALttP, it was a feature in Zelda 1 and 2 as well.
It was a mechanic that didn't really need to exist in OoT or any of the 3D Zelda. You have enough projectile weapons anyway, and the ability to lock on, dodge and so on made swordfighting a large focus of the games. Adding a power beam would take that away by encouraging long-distance sniping of enemies.
It would have to be written in quite cleverly - perhaps becoming a magical shockwave that stuns enemies temporarily (and defeating weaker ones, like those damn Keese!)

Good thing I took that extra English class in summer '98 or I wouldn't be able to play the game to a satisfactory degree. SM64 had given me enough trouble with its contrived cake plot. I remember rushing to the local games store after German class (Dec 10 1998) to get my copy. They were closed by the time I got there. *sigh* With games costing 22000 drch, I made sure Ocarina lasted me months. Fun times.

I'm all for a remake of Zelda:LttP if it means the return of those evil Zora's. Also bunny Link.

Except, I use the bow to do exactly that (Damn fire/ice Keese)! Another feature from ALttP was going to the ability to shoot energy blasts from Link sword when he was at full health. Now I really hope that returns in 3D Zelda game built for the Wii (it could use the pointer). Fierce Deity's Mask, anyone? That was so powerful, it totally destroyed the final boss in seconds, which for me was cool, but kinda disappointing at the same time (then again, I'd say he's pretty impossible to beat without using it). If they do bring it back, I'd like to see it toned down a bit from it's MM incarnation.

I, too, would like to see the return of Bunny Link. But I'd like to see a full remake of the first two Zelda games using current Zelda gameplay mechanics first, methinks.

If they do bring it back, I'd like to see it toned down a bit from it's MM incarnation. I thought it was too easy with Fierce Deity. I went back to fight him again without it. Majora felt like a real final boss after that. I had to utilize all forms of Link in order to beat him. That's what I like in a final boss, challenging you in a variety of different styles.

The better swordplay video I saw had link's design more closer to the final, and he had more complex slashes on a mere chu chu. And it was only one item set at a time. And I'm pretty sure I recognized a place from Alttp.
And I'm rooting for an Alttp if he keeps the pink hair.

My Favorite Zeldas are Link´s Awakening and Mojoras Mask, but Ocarina of time was a incredible experience at its time, few games have been able to duplicate that feeling of AWESOME!

My Favorite Zeldas are Link´s Awakening and Mojoras Mask, but Ocarina of time was a incredible experience at its time, few games have been able to duplicate that feeling of AWESOME! Pretty much the same for me. Nothing can duplicate that intense feeling of "wow" when I first played Ocarina of Time. From start to finish, I was blown away by that game. Link's Awakening and LttP I played all the time as a kid. I still never played the Oracle games, but they're similar enough to LA that I might. Majora got far more replay than Ocarina, but I think it was the nature of the game. Wind Waker was the same way, but TP... not so much. I 100%'d on my first playthrough >.> Zelda II was my favorite growing up, though. I must be completely honest about that one XD I just loved how it was a platformer and so insanely difficult. From my youth to my teen years, I always had an appreciation for that. I still can't beat it to this day.

Way back when it was released, I loved Ocarina of Time a lot. And when Majora's Mask came around, I had quite some fun with that too. It was quite disturbing, I'll say. But nowadays, I've moved onto Wind Waker and Twilight Princess. In my opinion, these two were much deeper in terms in minor characters. Malon, Saria, and the other sages were among the very few in Ocarina of Time who were actually interesting. >.> Anju and Kafei did it for me in Majora's Mask, but that's it. WW and TP had more fun minor characters all around. Most that actually had me going with it, and others that I can kinda relate to (well-done personalities to boot); they were all just fun to interact with. And I don't know about anyone else, but I actually find the sailing in Wind Waker quite relaxing. That, and there was quite a lot more to do, even if you think you don't have much to do afterward. It's not that I think Ocarina and Majora are bad now, I'm just more partial to Waker and Twilight now.

Ocarina of Time ahould have 10 year world record for best first party ever, but Super Mario Galaxy is holding the torch.
I'm going to try to succeed the game next month.

Actually, my brother got seasick from WW.
Man I loved ocarina of time so much even though I played it after WW came out, to be honest. I have a hard time deciding which one is better, actually
