Hey Guys, I saw that you were pretty good at figuring out old Nintendo games. I am trying to figure one out for me and my brother. It was either NES or an SNES game, but the graphics weren't that great. It was top down and the only part we can remember is that there were fairies (or something like them) that you could name and then summon them later on. We were visiting a friend and he named a few after us. Thanks for any help you can provide!  |

I'm thinking Dragon Spirit (top down shooter with fairies) or maybe Hydlide (top down RPG with fairies). I'm not sure about renaming anything though. Can you remember anything else about the game at all? |

Well, while we have a topic named thusly, I've been racking my mind over a puzzle myself for the past...forever, really. When I was a wee lad, before my parents approved of me owning any video game device larger than the original GameBoy, I was fascinated whenever I went to my cousins' houses to play their NES games. One set of cousins had this game that...if I remember right, it was an isometric game that was a lot like the original Zelda, with single-screen areas that scrolled when you reached the edges. You played as some kind of tank thing, and you built up on yourself, gaining more parts and more powerful weapons as you went along. I have no idea what the name of this game is and I'd like to know just for shits and giggles.
I also distinctly remember an upgrade that looked like George Washington's head, but, uh, don't trust me on that one >_>

For kingkirby64, might you be thinking of Brain Lord on the SNES? It's top-down, and you can summon fairies. TEi, the fist thing I thought of from your description was Vindicators, but it doesn't scroll like Zelda, and as far as I know, it doesn't have George Washington. When you say it's isometric, do you mean like Solstice? |
