The human character is your best choice. You have your unnamed generic Pokemon Trainer, so why not? His face and clothes would change from color-to-color you can swap genders as an alt. And his/her stage entrance would be walking out of a door with that jingle noise. You know like how you start the day from your house. He/she can use all sorts of gimmicks for even standard attacks. Like a pinwheel for a rapid buzzsaw attack. Or unleash a Party Popper for an aerial A down. How's a blast from a Roman candle sound? You pretty much covered what I said on that last part. But that sounds good for the standard attacks. And yeah, it's not G&W who's used as an example for this.

Ah, sorry. I skim through things.

I still say an actual character like Tom Nook is better than another nameless generic. It would kind of take away from Pokemon Trainer's uniqueness as the guy without a name.
Then again, Sakurai already went to great lengths represent Animal Crossing without a playable character. Maybe it really doesn't need one in the long run.

AC Villager could work because Mr. Game&Watch worked. That is all. Sooooo sick of this being used as an argument for any unsuitable character Gee, it seems like I can't get anywhere around here without you saying "argument". As much as it pains me to say it, this is one thing I'd have to agree with Koopaul on: "Everything is an argument with you, Fry?"

I was simply saying I've lost count of the number of times someone has said "Well if Mr. Game & Watch can be playable then why can't anybody ever!!" It's not a good justification (otherwise known as an "argument") for any character.

Fryguy used the word argument in perfect context there. No need to dredge things up.
Um... so, maybe Tom Nook and K.K. could show up as Assists next time, and the new Animal Crossing stage could be the city from City Folk. How 'bout that?

Eh, yeah. That did come off as really quite...off. My mistake. K.K. Slider? He was better off as a stage prop at Smashville, with the whole 8 PM on Saturday deal. Very fitting, at that.

Dear God, that emoticon obviously means Fryguy is angry! LET'S ALL YELL AT HIM! Some of you just jump at the chance to sound cool, huh. Anyways the Resetti FS was more jokish. For a FS of his I'd say he would reset either a) Reset his damage % and turn screen black as pickax slashes are seen b) Summon a pine tree, chop it down, and watch as a bee hive's fall takes its toll on the opponents. c) RESET YOUR DATA (joking, joking) And Totakeke should remain in Smashville (can't believe I'm agreeing with BooDestroyer again) because that was the perfect concept. Why ruin it? Clearly the ideal AT would be Gracie running you over with her car, or Wendell being like Munchlax. Or Gyroid invasion like VG Cats.

Wendell? That's the perfect deal for him. Nice one.
Yeah, if you're gonna go with other Animal Crossing characters for Assist Trophies, make sure their antics fit in well with the Smash gameplay.
Other than that...the Smashville stage could use a little more to it.

I believe the next Smash stage will most likely be based off The City. It'll probably be like the same stage though.

How for the next stage, it starts off on a on level like Smashville but on the ground instead of the air, then Kappn come by with bus and you have to jump on to it before it drives off and after some time on the bus it ends up at the city and then the bus comes back and takes you back to the villiage.
And to make the stage even more authentic, you can't go to the city when playing online.
The only problem with this idea is that I couldn't decide wether the bus sections should scroll along sideways (like Big Blue) or into the screen (like Port Town Aero Dive).
Also in terms of K.K. being an AT, I just like him being an element of the background on Smashville, it just made the stage feel like it another major tie to the series (the first being the time of day).
I think the only way he would work, would be if he was a gag AT, that just played a song and did nothing more, but Resetii sort of already takes up that spot.

Could Tom Nook still be an Assist? What would his function be?

The concept of Smashville on ground was my idea one year before it was revealed. Many of my concepts became true. Bridge of Eldin is essentially my Hyrule Field concept.

Could Tom Nook still be an Assist? What would his function be? Maybe he could only appear in coin battles and he begins telling a long winding story, and your opponent has to pack him back with his own coins. Example. Setting, middle of a coin battle . . . two opponents fight each other when one (player 1) of them grabs an Assist Trophy . . . there's a flash of light . . . and then suddenly Tom Nook appears and starts speaking . . .
Hey, (player 2) remember a long time ago, you and me went drinking . . . and then . . . we . . . errrr . . . got really drunk and then we meet up . . . with . . . um . . . I partnered up with that Bat character and you went with that pink err . . . it had something to do with a bird thingy . . . and then ummm we all ended up at a motel . . . while I was making errr . . . sweet music with the bat . . . using her DS game . . . you found out your one was actually man . . . and then we ditched the place and then . . . errrr . . .
Well in the end you owe me 300 coins for the medical cost I payed for you that night. Which I want now.Actually after making that story, I though of a better idea, that could work for any match. Nook appears and certain coin items appear on the stage and the opponents must grab them all and return them to Nook because their damage % are steadly going up the long they take.

Seems too complicated. However we could replace Sand Bag with Tom Nook. Smack items out of him Bwahahaha!
