Well, this series got a lot of stuff featured in this game, but alas, no playable character. And thus, this has brought us to the realization that there's more to the game than just playable characters. So I'd figure we'd try to see what kind of playable fighter of its own Animal Crossing would use.
If so, who would it be?
Here's my take on it:
Animal Crosser (Can be either a boy or girl in the same way that Wario switches between his two outfits)
Standard special Eh, not sure here, actually. Anyone thought of one?
Side special: Net Will use his bug-catching net to trap foes in. When one is caught, he or she will toss the foe with the net.
Up special: Fishing Rod Much like Olimar's Pikmin Chain, can also be a tether recovery.
Down special: Shovel Will unearth a Pitfall seed. Other times will get him or her another random item.
Apparently, I have no idea as to what his or her Final Smash would be.
There's my two cents. Carry on.

Instead of a generic, why not go with Tom Nook? He could whip people with his tail and use the stuff he sells as Specials and Smashes.

It worked for the Pokemon Trainer, so why not this one?
Tom Nook? If he's gonna use what he sells to take everyone on, then I hope you don't mean the furniture. More or less, the other "basic" stuff he sells.

I'd be willing to put Resetti and K.K. Slider on the lines, personally. 'Course, Resetti'd have a tough time with the whole "All I do is yell at people for resettin' because resettin' is bad" thing, but Slider could be interesting.

Resetti was fine enough as an Assist Trophy, so I don't think he'd fit.

Good point. It was more of an idle thought, really.

K.K. Slider is a lover, not a fighter

Totakeke represents peace, not fighting. He might be Animal Crossing's unofficial mascot, but he's an even WORSE choice than unnamed AC villager.
AC Villager could work because Mr. Game&Watch worked. That is all.
Though if I had a choice, Mr. Resetti. He says he is the soul of Animal Crossing, and after Totakeke and Tom Nook, he's right! My favorite AC character, and one who speaks for Nintendo in City Folk. He could use his pickax, stun foes by ranting, some stubby kicks, burrow under ground halfway to dodge attacks, the like. Final Smash as some have said, would be making everyone type in an apology.

The human character is your best choice. You have your unnamed generic Pokemon Trainer, so why not?
His face and clothes would change from color-to-color you can swap genders as an alt.
And his/her stage entrance would be walking out of a door with that jingle noise. You know like how you start the day from your house.
He/she can use all sorts of gimmicks for even standard attacks.
Like a pinwheel for a rapid buzzsaw attack. Or unleash a Party Popper for an aerial A down. How's a blast from a Roman candle sound?
Specials and Smashes will be the Net, Shovel, etc.
Standard Special: Not sure... I'll get back to you.
Forward Special: Fishing Rod Similar to Sheik's chain, you send it out, and dangle it around. Unlike Sheik's chain, if it touches someone the hook latches on to them. Pull it back to rip the hook out of them for good damage. This is also used as a tether recovery, twice as long as Sheik's chain.
Down Special: Shovel Shove your Shovel into the ground, if your opponent is close enough this will do damage. If not, you'll unearth a numerous amount of things that will fling forward. Like fossils, gyroids, and rocks. Each doing different damage. This can only be done on the ground.
Up Special: Slingshot Like Yoshi, your up special shoots a projectile. Aim will the control stick. You'll rise a little in the air, but makes a poor recovery.
Forward Smash: Axe Swing either a regular, Silver, or Golden Axe at random. Much like Peach, each does it's own amount of damage.
Down Smash: Weed Pluck Pluck a weed in front of you, this action will cause a good amount of damage.
Up Smash: Net Swing a Net over your head and slam down, like Ike's up smash.
Final Smash: Watering Can Sprinkle some water on the ground, flowers will bloom all over the stage, causing rapid damage for those who trample on them! You'll be safe in the air but they won't go away until you destroy them.

If Mr Resetti was made a playable character, who from AC would replace him as an Assist Trophy?
@ Dasher Misire, the Resetti FS idea is good on paper, but in the actual game, having 3 keyboards appear on screen would take up a lot of screen space.
Also another AC themed FS (for any character) would having embedded everyone in the ground like hit with a Pitfall Seed (but in the ground for longer) or having a swarm of bees appear to attack people.

AC Villager could work because Mr. Game&Watch worked. That is all. Sooooo sick of this being used as an argument for any unsuitable character
