Sora Ltd/Nintendo posted a full page ad for new dev team members in Famitsu.
It has these small quotes from Iwata and Sakarai.
“Masahiro Sakurai and Nintendo are thinking together, and a new project has been launched. In order to expand the range of what video games can provide to the world, we are receiving full support from Nintendo to create something that Nintendo can’t create by themselves.”
“I am asking for something special here, something that isn’t Smash Bros.” - Iwata
“I promise that we can provide an experience like nothing seen before.” - Sakurai

I cannot wait. Sakurai is among my top five favorite game developers, and I trust his views on games (moreso on how to do them, not exactly on his choices in Smash games) more than most. This will be excellent, I am sure.
The less spoken, the better.
Oh and Koopaul, I want you to duct-tape a dictionary onto your desk so you can know what you're saying more often. If Iwata was egotastical he would be saying he's above all others and show us charts in every minute of his interviews, and give canned messages.

The speculations are flying... Oh boy...
I've heard a few things so far: M-rated FPS, Halo-like online multiplayer game, MMORPG, 3D Pokemon, something that uses a movie or 3rd party license, a series of non-games, etc. etc.
I wonder what it could be...?

I beilieve there is also a silver PS3 next to the 360.
Also the Wii's sensor bar can be seen on top of the TV.
I remember a while ago when Sakarai was at some event with Suda 51, he said he managed to complete a run of BioShock without killing any little sisters, but he never said what platform it was on.

That's cool. I just knew that Sakurai would eventually come back to Nintendo and he did! Here's hoping for a new SSB and/or a SSB spin-off RPG or something as good as Kirby.  Did you even bother to read the story? He already made it clear that it's not going to be SSB. |
