According to Joystiq, there is a new Adventure Island game coming out on Wiiware with what looks like Super Ghouls and Ghosts style graphics. So, what do you think should come out next? Obviously these games (Megaman 9 included) aren't considered big enough to sell as actual games, but are there any you can think of that might? Personally, I'd love to see a new River City Ransom. Dat shit would be TIGHT, SON!

Oh hell yes, day 1 purchase. Graphics actually remind me of PSP's Ultimate Ghosts 'n Goblins.
Anyway, a lot of older titles have simple 2D gameplay and that's awesome. A lot of people aren't willing to pay 50 bucks for something that you might aswell play for free on Newgrounds though. This is why Wiiware/XBL/PSN are great: they can still release these kind of games with a cheap price without changing the core gameplay too much and turning everything in 3D.
River City Ransom Wiiware would be rad, but is also one of few that has the potential to be a successful retail release, if done right. Still the Wiiware release would probably be closer to the original, with simple, goofy looking characters and co-op, while retail would probably look and play just like Yakuza...
Any old 2D platformer Wiiware remake/sequel is awesome in my book. Goemon, Sparkster, Dynamite Headdy, Strider ... list goes onnnn 'n onnnn.

Graphics actually remind me of PSP's Ultimate Ghosts 'n Goblins. Shit, I always get those two confused. Basically any PSP remake, like Megaman Powered Up and Maverick Hunter X also use this style, which is another reason I love the PSP.

I actually don't like the way the new Adventure Island looks. It seems kind of muddy. Some nice clean 2D sprites would look better, and probably take up less room on the Wii's memory.
I'm already still waiting for Gradius ReBirth, which got released in Japan last summer, and was ESRB rated last November. Not to mention Bubble Bobble Plus, which only just came out in Japan.
But actually, I was recently thinking it would be cool to see a new Double Dragon.

Hm, nice thread, Teev. Out of any game I would ever ask to see an update, M.U.L.E. would be at the top of my list. And not the NES port that decided to rework some things, either - the original. I have a hunch many of you have never heard of it, but I have detailed it out at my site here if you're curious. As for others, I think Capcom should resurrect the Gargoyle's Quest games. I've never played one, but the premise of being a Red Arramer and the atmosphere I've read and seen in features really makes me think a revival would be awesome.

The Genesis has a lot of potential for remakes. Ristar is definitely high up on my list, but Vectorman comes a close second. I can see Ristar as Wiiware, but Vectorman might possibly be able to be a full game. I don't see it coming out for consoles though, it just seems like a handheld game...
