Dude, those Final Fantasy announcements excite me a lot! I've always wanted to play 4, 5, and 6, but here's a conundrum: Do I download from VC in all their fugly glory, or wait for more pretty DS overhauls?

New DS Zelda game announced, The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks. It’ll be available later this year. Apparently Wind Waker style Link was shown riding on a train. Link is able to direct a sidekick character, an armor-clad warrior, with the stylus. Is it me, or are the concepts for new Zelda games getting crappier and crappier as time goes on? What's next? Link taking control of an aeroplane? As for the rest of it, it's pretty meh to be honest. Where's the mention of a new Star Fox or F-Zero?

Eh, not bad for GDC. At least they're not going overboard and treating GDC like some big game-unveiling event. New Zelda game though. And the SD card thing is awesome. If I had turned my Wii on in months I might have spotted that

Arcade games on the VC? Wow, that's cool. I'd have liked to play Vs. Duck Hunt (the version where you actually shoot the dog, also I still want the NES version on the VC ) and Sky Skipper (it seemed so interesting from what I've read on its NinDB page) and that Simpsons arcade game I loved to play when I was a kid. Hey, wouldn't it be great if both Mario Kart arcade games came on the VC?!

The ESRB recently rated MvC3. That means Capcom has the license again. That means it's possible for MvC to be released on the Wii. Rejoice at the possibility. Whoa whoa whoa. When did that happen? *runs off to investigate* Qu - I think you got the recent Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 ratings for PS3 and X360 in mind, here. A quick search for Marvel Vs. Capcom at the ESRB website shows no MvC3...as much as I'd like it to happen. *sigh* Anyway, back to adding more thoughts. I'm glad to hear of a solution for the Wii's storage problems - it's not ideal, but it's at least better than what was in place. I am a bit surprised that Square is adding Final Fantasy to the VC lineup - considering their rerelease/porting/remaking madness, I didn't expect it at all. I have a strong hunch it's because of the DSi's lack of a GBA port, which most of the FF remakes happen to be thus far (outside of III and IV, anyway). I am jazzed about the Arcade. I am surprised that they're using Space Invaders to launch it, though. As Nester mentioned, no Donkey Kong? (And yes, I do think the pie factory is worth it!) As for Zelda, I'll have to watch it, but the description sounds awfully gimmicky (which is how Phantom Hourglass sounded to me, which is why I never bought it). We'll see.

We already have the NES version. I love the pie factory as much as anybody else, but is it really that much of an improvement over the original? The original arcade version of Donkey Kong was a milestone for Nintendo, as well as Shigeru Miyamoto and Gunpei Yokoi. It's one of the most important pieces of Nintendo history, and I think it would be worthwhile to make it available. Besides, not releasing it just because the NES version is already available is not a good reason. Perhaps they'll save it for the 25th anniversary of DK which is coming up in a couple of years...

Ee hee hee hee hee hahahaha.
Actually, looking over the games in the Arcade selection announced so far, are any of these actually made by Nintendo? It looks like it's all third party to me so far.

25th year anniversary? That was 3 years ago. DK's 30th year anniversary would be in 2011 (a couple years from now). I'm definitely curious how different the VS. versions of Balloon Fight, Clu Clu Land, Ice Climber, and Super Mario Bros. are from their NES counterparts.
