On another Nintendo site, I had a debate with a friend about the series Blast Corps. He said that the series was a 1st party Nintendo game, and I said the rights were owned by Rare. Getting nowhere he decided to email NoA and find out about Blast Corps. According to the Nintendo rep, BC is owned by Nintendo and is indeed a 1st party series. Thoughts on this anyone?

I assume it's first party in the same way that Star Fox Adventures is first party. Nintendo owns the license and rights to the series, but that particular game was actually developed by Rare. I guess that means it's a first party series but a second party game. The fact that Blast Corps is the only game in the series may be arbitrary in this case. But then again, I'm figuring this out as I go along, so what do I know?

As far as I'm aware, the game was developed by Rare, and when it split, all of the game's licenses also went back to Rare. I heard the only ones Nintendo kept were anything related to Starfox Adventures and Donkey Kong Country.
