I read about this at GoNintendo (in turn found at NeoGAF), and while I don't think it counts as a cameo for not being so obvious, I think it's interesting since there's already that Arwing in OoT and those are all animal-based.
The video says it's from August 2008, so you guys may have already seen it. It possibly surfaced at this time because of Majora's Mask's VC release.

Hm, never put those together, but it's an intriguing possibility regardless. The Scents Mask looks an awful lot like Pigma, as well. XD

I'm not 100% sure about Pigma on the end there, but I'd say that's a valid (if well-hidden) reference.

To further that, since the original Star Fox was James McCloud, Pigma Denger, and Peppy Hare, ALL species of the Star Fox team up till that point are represented.
