Fowl MarioFowl Mario is bestowed the might and pride of a morning-summoner rooster. As Fowl Mario runs, he extends his wings. Get enough speed, jump, and press the jump button repeatedly while in midair to flap your wings and fly for a limited time. When falling down, press the jump button repeatedly to land slowly. Get enough speed and crash against a wall made of breakable bricks, and Fowl Mario will advance through them wildly.

[shadow=black,left,300] Zap Mario[/shadow] i11.photobucket.com/albums/a194/darkmario/ZapMario.jpg(Damn scanner won't work right...) Mario quits plumbing to realize the second goal in his life: to become an Engineer! Item that give the power up:- A Lightning Bolt (think Mario Kart) Attacks:Zap Mario's Main form of attack would be throwing electric bolts that go straight forward by choping in front of him (Think in Kirby Super Star, the uncharged plasma bolt shot). Bolts are sent forward and will continue going forward until they reach a wall, which it will then split into 2 bolts, one "hugging" the wall in both dirrections. Mario's secondary attack is an air based one. Press Down in mid-air to action his Lightning Bolt attack, which consists in Mario plummeting into the ground, fist first, punching the ground and sending two fat spheres of slow moving plamsa in both directions, both moving on the ground. This attack can hit upto 3 enemies, stunning the stronger ones, and KO'ing weaker ones. Hitting a foe directly will be able to KO even stronger foes. Mario is left vunerable after this attack, so any airborne foe can still strike while he's still recovering. Semi-Passive Abilities:As Mario is becomes an electricity wielding hero, he get some abilities from the surge within his body, mainly these two: - Super Fast Running Speed, though hard to stop, especially on ice platforms - If enough time is spent running nonstop, you'll have generated enough Static Electricity that you become a zapping, tackling being, with a tail of electricity following you. Run into weaker foe to KO them. If a foe touches the trail of electricity behind you, they get stunned and will not be able to attack. Jumping will make you go into a fetal position as you advance as a Ball of Thunder. Landing will cancel the attack. (If you have problems imagining this, think of Super Metroid's Speed Booster, with the "holograms" that would follow you as a paralyzing extra) Extra Abilities(PS: just as the last idea I gave, not all these ideas must work, since I know you are already into the game for quite some time) Zap Mario, as an engineer, is the ultimate intelect in the world (lol j/k, sorry, I had to =P). Since he's been running around the Mushroom Kingdom and more endlessly, he invented a few devices to help him along in some places, like his Light Helmet, the Eye Gaurds and the EMFF. - Light Helmet: The "Mario Hat" for this suit is more than just something pretty. It lights up dark places like caves and such that has a small amount of light, places you wouldn't be able to pass, unless if you (the player) know them by heart. - Eye Gaurds: Works in reverse of the Light Helmet. What it does is let you see in places with too much light. That's it. Plus, they're stylish - EMFF: The EMFF, or the Electromagnetic Forcefield, is a device that will allow Mario to sink in Water, Generating a field around him that will push water out of his way, allowing him to walk on the Sea Bed. He can activate it and deactivate it at will with Down+Jump. Yes, I know. A lot of ideas. Just take which everones would work best or are cooler and add them, if you like this submission, of course >o> Btw, GB, when will the "Suit Competition" end? You know, so I don't have to think of any more new Marios >.>'

I don' think we should make these abilities too complicated, after all it is a Mario game.

Oops, I guess you're right >o>'
I seems my imagination slipped a bit there, but at least I put:
"Yes, I know. A lot of ideas. Just take which everones would work best or are cooler and add them, if you like this submission, of course >o> "
I guess that one would work without the extra abilities, maybe just keep The sink-in-water one ^_^'
Any way, it is upto GB which Mario gets added and how, I see the Fowl Mario entering though, I'd love to be a chicken in a Mario Game, imagine Mario clucking x-D

You're talking about today. Factoring in timezone differences, it's tomorrow.
Now I wonder what's going to happen...

Huh? Wasn't aware that this is a MechaWare project... I did like part of its games (like the Ruined in Wario game and that Turtle Bridge remake; altough others like the Luigi one is outright annoying). Will give it a try when I have the chance.

There are several things one could constructively criticize about the demo, but if that stage will be part of the final release, I'll have to begin with mentioning something...
That pile of bricks toward the end of the stage... One can get stuck in it! No Mario players enjoy getting stuck like that while the timer goes down ;D
Also, will you still use our power-up submissions?

Well, I tried it... but found it too frustrating to control. Mario's much too fast. It makes it too hard to aim jumps accurately, and when he's running it feels more like a Sonic game. The graphics are very pretty, though. Music is a bit annoying.
I still think the title is ridiculous.

Tried.
Bad physics (control is not responsive), bad key mapping (QWERTY assumption = fail), graphics not even properly implemented with "bad graphic" placeholder often seen
Good premise, but permance is simply not good.

The sprites were really good, the controls however were too laggy. I died a lot.

Thank you all for your input on this demo. We will take all of your comments into account as we revise our game engine.
Johans, the competition was over a while back, as instructed when the competition started.

Question: Are we the only source of feedback?

Also, will you still use our power-up submissions? Johans, the competition was over a while back, as instructed when the competition started. I wasn't asking that, buddy. I mean the power-ups we submitted at the time. If the winner is a secret, then it's okay.
