Just got back from seeing it with my friends, and I've got only one word to describe it...
Kickass.
Wolverine's backstory is an interesting one involving TEi's favorite Marvel character (Deadpool).
Anyone else see it?

Nope. Hell I haven’t even seen the three X-Men movies yet.
But I know movie-Deadpool look verrrrrrry different from his comic appearances. Does he still break the 4th wall in the film?

The movie looks shit. Metacritic says it is shit. I've heard it is shit. I am not optimistic about this movie.
Why the FUCK is Cyclops in the movie?

Because he got cheated out of the other three X-Men movies?

Pfft, don't trust critics. X-Men is an action movie, and everyone knows critics hate action movies.
Deadpool does break the fourth wall, but only in a super secret ending that a few theaters will show (mine didn't).
And Cyclops is basically a cameo character in it.
I love X-Men, and I loved all the characters in it (Quicksilver also had a short cameo and the Blob kicked ASS!!).

The title of the movie also suggests they could do other "origins" movies. Magneto would be good I suppose, but could you imagine a movie just about Storm? Gah. Wolverine would somehow appear in it, chuck in Spiderman and a few terminators maybe one of those AVP hybrids.

Well, the next Origins will be Magneto. It'll show his experiences in Auschwitz. Another good one would be Apocalypse, but they haven't introduced him (yet).

It was pretty shit. I'm not a comic fan, so all I wanted was some mindless action and even that was pretty subpar. Special effects were dodge - Wolvy's claws looked oh so bad. Storyline was needlessly retarded (all those twists when they get to the island were fucking pointless).
Wade was pretty cool. And from what little I know of Deadpool from various internet sources (like TEi), seemed pretty spot on. But when he was brought back as Deadpool... that was also lame.
The whole thing was pretty bad. Not Dragonball movie epicly bad, either. Just bad.

We were all gonna go see it this week, until I remembered that X-Men 3 was one of the most stupid movies ever (slightly less stupid than Spider-Man 3), and the other X-Men movies have aged worse than the Spider-Man movies as well.
So I decided against it.
And Dances... have you seen the epically bad Dragonball movie? That's one that I fully expect to be awful, and I'm wondering if I might enjoy it for that reason! Opinion plz! ;D

Gather up a bunch of people who are also willing to embrace the badness of it (preferably ones that like or at least were familiar with DB/DBZ - like my friends) and its great - because its just soooooo bad. My favourite part is the utter disdain for explaining the gigantic fucking plot hole in the movie, but the whole thing is really terrible. Nobody looks like anyone. Special effects are terrible. And the story is gibberish.
Highly recommended if you and your mates are in the right mindset for it.
Oh, and by the way, I realise this is pretty much the exact criticism I made of Wolverine. Which is why I need to make it clear it probably wouldn't be as fun if, like the Wolverine movie, people go to it thinking its going to be good (everyone in the DB movie theatre knew it was going to be bad, thankfully). DB is probably objectively a worse movie, though. And thankfully its much shorter, so the badness doesn't have too much time to stick around and become painful.

You go in expecting a bad movie, you're gonna see a bad movie. You go in expecting a kickass Marvel comic Wolverine badass boneclaw movie, that's what you're gonna see.
And yes, boneclaw is now an adjective.

I used to not be too interested in X-Men, but I recently played through both X-Men Legends games with a couple friends, which was awesome as heck. So I might rent the X-Men Trilogy one of these days, and then maybe see Origins.

No, you go in expecting an enjoyable comic book based action movie, you're going to get a retarded storyline wrapped around some dodge special effects like some kind of god awful burrito of terrible.

See, I found it awesome, but that's probably because I grew up reading the comics.

Growing up reading the comics doesn't necessarily account for good or bad filmmaking. For example: I'm a Transformers fan myself and even I admit that the live action Transformers move was assballs in the long run.
