Hi guys! Long time no post!
Anyway, are you ever fed up that nothing surprises you about games anymore? As soon as a new game is announced, there's always gonna be loads of trailers and feature articles about it plastered all around the internet, and sometimes I think they give us too much information. For example I knew how to defeat the first 2 bosses of Mario Galaxy before it even came out!
So I've decided to challenge myself to avoid any details about the next big Nintendo A+ game until the final reviews are out. I'll just see the first announcement about it (probably at E3), and I'll let myself watch the first trailer (that doesn't include any E3 trailers), but that's it.
What do you think? Will I be able to do it? Is it even possible? Am I crazy?

...its not really that hard, assuming you don't visit websites populated with dickheads. I did it for RE5 and Madworld most recently, watched absolutely no videos, saw no screenshots, etc, etc. I did it for Galaxy too. Its pretty easy.

I find it harder, simply because whenever I'm excited about a game, I get a constant urge to spoil it whenever I'm near a computer. I could try it! But is there even an A+ Nintendo title coming? The only ones really worth avoiding spoilers for are Mario RPG, Zelda, StarFox or Metroid titles, there isn't much story in the rest of Nintendo's franchises. And it's too late for me to avoid Mario & Luigi 3 spoilers.

...Remind me if there's any actual big Nintendo releases coming out in the near future. I can't find any.
The closest thing I can tell would be MAde in Ore, which in that specific topis there are already loads of vids roaming. People currently white out the spoiler part, but you'll inevitably see some info of that game.
I think you can't avoid spoilers if you are active even in NinDB.
I did manage not to get info of a game I currently play though: Metroid Prime 3. But that's the result of me not interested in the game in the first place. I got it because I found an affordable copy - and it's very easy to miss out games and unable to buy it back over here, so it's better be safe than sorry - I should buy it.
Now, don't tell me anything about the story of the game now that you know I play it. =P

I'm not that bothered about early spoilers. It's difficult to want a game when you know nothing about it at all... unless it's a series you already love. But yeah... we're a discussion forum, and it's likely we will discuss things.
Also, now Nintendo's doing more TV advertising, it may become even more difficult for you to avoid any kind of spoiler.

there isn't much story in the rest of Nintendo's franchises. Its not really about story for me personally, though - if you told me the story of Galaxy (pro tip SPOLIERZ WARNING: the princess gets kidnapped by Bowser), I wouldn't have cared. What I did want to keep secret were the levels and gameplay elements, so I could experience them myself. And seriously, it doesn't seem all that hard to do. The only issue is if its a new / unproven franchise, you'll need to read about it to see if you want it, so its hard to be completely spoiler free with those, but you can be mostly spoiler free anyway. And I would assume OMR is making the (perhaps crazy) assumption that Ninty will announce something big sometime soon (ie E3). As they have nothing now. Except Excitebots. Which I also know very little about. EXCIIIITE.

I'm not expecting a big game announcement from E3, honestly. Maybe they learned from last year's backlash, or maybe they'll be stubborn and insist they were right and just show us more of their very best shovelware. Honestly, I haven't even bought a Nintendo game since Brawl, and the only one since then that's interested me was Wario Land: Shake It.

Yeah, DIU, its mostly trying to resist the urge And yeah, I'm gonna wait until the next big thing is announced whatever it may be. There's a few hints around various news sites that Nintendo might announce something big at E3 this year, although it could just turn out to be something like Wii Darts or Wii Hopscotch or something But regardless, as soon as I get a sniff of the next BIG THING, the challenge is on!

Well I have yet to spoil myself for M&L 3 (except for Fawful being in it and basic stuff like thar)
Mario RPG's are my most favorite type of Mario games. I want my experience to be as exciting as possible.
I spoiled myself on the characters and stages in Brawl, but I didn't spoil myself on the Subspace (I was hoping there would be an epic story)
I'll always spoil myself for Pokemon, but never the story for that game either.
I think you get the pattern.

The only games I don't want to be spoiled on are the Ace Attorney games (especially the identity of the murderer). As for everything else, I'm not too fussed about avoiding spoilers.

Yeah, I've always managed to avoid any Ace Attorney spoilers. That's one game where knowing the plot beforehand makes playing the game a complete waste of time.

I think what you guys said about Ace Attroney can be applied to many other text games.

Knowing that I'd buy Mario Galaxy regardless of the fact, I only ever watched a few early demo videos that had levels that weren't in the final product, and a handful of screenshots. It made the entire gaming experience so awesome. Of course, I spoiled myself rotten for Brawl... ...Remind me if there's any actual big Nintendo releases coming out in the near future. I can't find any. WiiFit 2 is coming out at some point in the near future! Okay, that's just conjecture, but it wouldn't surprise me if it were true. Honestly, I haven't even bought a Nintendo game since Brawl, and the only one since then that's interested me was Wario Land: Shake It. Yeah, same thing here. Between Brawl and now, I only bought Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World, and (in my opinion) that was a severe waste of money, and losing the twenty-dollar difference on trading it back in cut me to the quick.

Well after Brawl I got Mario Kart Wii, Wario Land Shake It!, and Animal Crossing: City Folk. I suppose I'm happy. I still enjoy playing Brawl and Mario Kart Wii with my buds.
And lately we've been playing this awful game called Dokapon Kingdom... But... We can't stop playing it!

>TEi I didn't get mush Galaxy spoilers in the first place; I didn't try to get info about the game, but didn't actively avoid spoilers either.
Galaxy is now one of the games that amazed me the most. Not because of its already-used physics, but the whole recreation of a true Mario - in 3D.
I let myself go for spoilers for Brawl. For most mutiplayer games, I want to see as many spoilers as possible before having my buy-or-not decision. I successfully avoided Mario Party 8 (said before: bad UI = bad app) because I get to play it beforehand.
Wii Sports Resort is SAID to be released in June in Japan. Not that I trust schedules for games before they are actually out for sale.
And I bought a few games after Brawl: Radiant Dawn on the same day, Kirby Ultra later, Metroid Prime 3 recently, and I plan to get 3D Picross and Made in Ore.
