You know there's lots of things Nintendo and other video game developers intend on putting in a game, but leave them out. We never know about them until someone discovers them in the game through hacking. For example someone recently discovered that Petey Piranha, Hammer Bro, and Paratroopa were gonna be in Mario Kart Wii at one point. Post discoveries found in gaming here. I'm sure there will be some interesting stuff!

Nay. There's that Roy / Pichu / Toon Zelda / whoever rumor for Brawl, and other kinds of unused stuff. There are also easter eggs like the don't-know-why-it's-there book in Mario Sunshine that I posted here before.
My conclusion: most major NinDBers (not all; at least not me) aren't interested in those stuff.

Why not?
I think its neat to see what could have been.
Remember the Arwing found in Ocarina of Time? How cool was that?

My conclusion: most major NinDBers (not all; at least not me) aren't interested in those stuff. ...How did you reach that conclusion again? I for one enjoy seeing stuff that the creators experimented with when the game was still in development, but in the end didn't make the cut. I only recently found out that they wanted to throw in a Blaargh! baddy in Super Mario 64... and I didn't know about those beta MK Wii characters either so thanks for that. Somebody post a shitload of links, there's probably a lot of beta stuff I don't know about yet.

That topics based on unused stuff or strange things don't seem to have much popularity. ...Or it's just me. fryguy64.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=modern&action=display&thread=1095Can't find the article again, but I remember I once started something concering the hidden book of Mario Sunshine. Repliers said the info didn't make them much interested, You made me search the forum for old posts. I feel like I was much of a n00b - not the "spamming around" one, but I didn't start especially good discussions either. I'm a n00b even now. Relatively.

I remember that site being mondo-slow. Seems like they fixed that, woot. Can't find the article again, but I remember I once started something concering the hidden book of Mario Sunshine. Repliers said the info didn't make them much interested, That's a coincidence, I wasted a good time earlier searching for beta junk on youtube and I stumbled upon a video about the Sunshine book thing. I really like that kinda stuff, maybe I'm just one of few around here who digs it. You made me search the forum for old posts. I feel like I was much of a n00b - not the "spamming around" one, but I didn't start especially good discussions either. Same same, it's why I only made about 3 threads in the 2 years I've been hanging around here now

Very strange that you say that, YL. Since we usually are big fans of unused things. Just not old news.
What I always enjoyed was looking for alpha details/graphics. You can't uncover them unless you have a source or picture. Like SMW and SM64 sprites/textures, and the original OoT style. Also Sunshine's humans.
I remember reading Bowser in SMW was going to ride on a Doomship/Airship originally. I wish I could find where I read that. I prefer the sunken Doomship and Bowser using his personal Clown Car.

The original OoT style was awesome with the Mario 64 engine and similar graphics. I'm glad it went the way it did, but I would have enjoyed the old-school look just the same. And the humans in Sunshine were cool; I wonder what the original game would have been like?
And did nobody see that there were beta items for Kart Wii as well? A Wiggler and then the Chomp and Fireballs from Double Dash (or were the fireballs in Wii?). Man oh man... It's funny how we complain that Nintendo never does enough to satisfy fans, but most of the beta stuff we discover would argue otherwise.
Also, I remember hearing rumors of the original Yoshi's Island just being SMW with Mario stuck on Yoshi's back the whole game. OoT apparently started as a SNES game, though I don't know how true that is.

I think I know what you're talking about, Dasher. Thing is, back then people seemed not to know about what I was talking about and not interested.

I think I know what you're talking about, Dasher. Thing is, back then people seemed not to know about what I was talking about and not interested. Nah, we weren't much interested in the Mario Sunshine book because we'd already known about it for three years at that point. I love beta stuff, and I'm always digging through Unseen64's pages. I just recently found out about the early Banjo-Kazooie video which featured what seemed to be an organic Clanker along with music which later appeared in DK64! Awesome stuff.

They basically concluded that Fungus Forest was changed to Clanker's Cavern at some point in development. Then they reused the theme and the music in DK64.

Rare was king when it came to interesting and mysterious beta stuff.
Stop N Swop, Bottles Revenge... They had so many cool things planned that was left to be discovered. They'd always taunt us with their mysteries like no one else!
