I already posted this in the New Game announcements thread, but, eh, Superstars Tennis got it's own thread, so why not this? Official Site I guess it's to be expected after the Mario Tennis clone.

Sonic and Sega All Stars? Why is Sonic's name separate? Is he too good for them?

Teev - Sonic's name seems to be a recent experiment for Sega's branding. Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection, anyone?
Spud - Wouldn't surprise me in the least. If they got Camelot to do the golf game, I'd at least consider it.

Why the fuck does Sonic need a car Remember Sonic Drift 1 and 2? I know it should be like Sonic R, but I remember hearing ScrewAttack say that Sonic R is the worst Sonic game in existence. In their opinion that is.

Moar Jet Grind Radio characters, anyone? I swear, I'd pick up Sonic and Sega Superstars Hotdog Eating Contest if it meant another game with my beloved GGs in 'em. (This time, though, I'll give the game a couple months rather than buy it right away only for it to drop $20 in price a few weeks after...) Sonic and Sega All Stars? Why is Sonic's name separate? Is he too good for them? I think it's something to do with the overwhelming representation of Sonic characters in Sega Superstar Tennis. Sonic had five playable characters, two stages, and an obscene amount of music; the other franchises had, at most, two characters, one court, and three songs. The oversaturation of Sonic content probably led to the name change here. Why the fuck does Sonic need a car Remember Sonic Drift 1 and 2? I know it should be like Sonic R, but I remember hearing ScrewAttack say that Sonic R is the worst Sonic game in existence. In their opinion that is. They're forgetting about Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic '06 ;D Sonic R is a terrible game, but by no means is it the hedgehog's worst outing.

I LIKE Sonic R. It has the best stages of any 3D Sonic game next to Sonic Adventure.

I LIKE Sonic R. It has the best stages of any 3D Sonic game next to Sonic Adventure. I used to think that too, a while ago - but when I picked up Sonic Gems a couple months back to play it, I realized that it wasn't as good as I'd hyped myself up into believing D:

Whateva. I used to think it was garbage till I put the entire 3D Sonic spectrum into perspective. And "Super Sonic Racing" is a pretty catchy song.

[/quote] Here is where ScrewAttack's Top 5 Best and Top 5 Worst Sonic games is located at. Stuttering Craig (a.k.a. the guy who looks similar to the driver in the Sonic Drive-In commercials) misunderstood about why Sonic runs slow in Sonic Labyrinth for the Game Gear. According to the game's plot in the instruction booklet, "One day, Sonic woke up from a nap to find that his classic red sneakers have been replaced with Dr. Eggman's new invention, Speed Down Boots. Curses! In order to remove them, Sonic must go through Eggman's great labyrinth and retrieve the Chaos Emeralds."

A duplicate thread was created accidentally with a little new info. You can see it below, but we'll stick to this one for new posts. fryguy64.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=thirdparty&action=display&thread=3544
I'm very happy and surprised to see the inclusion of Ryo Hazuki! Usually Sega shies away from acknowledging Shenmue. It's as if Ryo was a spy that got killed in action, and his agency was disavowing all knowledge of him. But this is good news!

Indeed, and the concept of non-Sega character DLC is welcome news as well.
By the way, Rare, Sony, and Fable character info has been linked, so...Conker's for Brawl Sonic Racing!

Here's what's going to happen since I'm in Super Pessimism Mode:
Sonic will get about ten characters: the four that matter (Sonic, Robotnik, Tails, Knuckles) and six that should drop off the face of the earth (Amy and Shadow at least, and probably Headfungus the Hedgehog). He'll also have about five stages and fifteen songs. And of course the character count may even have a more unbalanced ratio as we have no word on whether Knuckles is playable or not - if they dumped him in Tennis in favor of Shadow, what's stopping them from doing it again? EDit: nevermind, I just saw Knux in one of the trailers.
Meanwhile, every other franchise will probably only have one character, one stage, and maybe three songs - just like Tennis, only Sonic is jizzing over even more of the game. And just to spite me, if there's any Jet Set Radio-related stuff in the game at all, it'll be based solely on Jet Set Radio Future. Those fucking fuckers. XD
