For those of you who want music from a Nintendo DS game, but can't find them, there are some 2SF files located here and here. After you download one or several of them, go to Zophar's Domain and download the Winamp plugin vio2sf, extract it and copy paste it into Winamp's plugin folder. After that, open Winamp, then extract the 2SF files from a compressed folder, select all and copy paste them into Winamp. To convert them to whatever format you want them to turn out as, listen to the songs and see which ones you want to convert. Next, download Audacity, click on "Record" and start playing a song. Before saving it, hit Ctrl+A, go to Effect, Amplify and click OK. It will automatically amplify it at the perfect volume, but if you want it louder or quieter, raise or lower the amplification level, click Preview, and repeat the process until it gets to your preferred volume. Sometimes you can't do this, unless you click the check box titled "Allow clipping". Now go to File, click either Export As WAV, Export As MP3 or Export As Ogg Vorbis, and add plenty of info to it, so you can find it easier. Repeat all of this converting for other Nintendo DS music you want in certain formats. Now you'll have a great list of your favorite music from your favorite Nintendo DS titles. For game music on other platforms, there are others in the music section of Zophar's Domain. They also have Winamp plugins for them, but BEWARE. Some sound files don't sound exactly like they do in the game, like X (the Game Boy title), Nazo no Murasamejo and Wave Race 64. I'll probably post more ideas on how to find what songs you want sometime later.

I guess it's like the minipsf files for Playstation audio, according to this site it basically comes down to saving space. Also thanks for the links and detailed explanation Parrothead. Never bothered trying to find a website for DS tunes.. and now I don't have to!

Anyone wanna try and find me the Dissidia: Final Fantasy remix of the FF9 battle theme?
Yes, I enjoyed Final Fantasy IX and it's soundtrack. Sue me.
While i'm here, has Punch-Out!! Wii's music been ripped yet?

Here's that IX battle theme. And for those who care, the whole thing in two parts. Also here's the Punch-Out Wii OST, but apparently a bunch of tunes are missing. If you tell me which I could probably convert 'em from youtube.

I did a bit of a download session this weekend, getting hold of some Gamecube and Wii soundtracks. Specifically:
- Super Mario Sunshine - Star Fox Assault - F-Zero GX - Kirby Air Ride - The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess - Super Mario Galaxy
Some of them need a bit of pruning of recordings direct from the game, but I'd forgotten how much I love Assault's soundtrack, and listening to Galaxy's epic soundtrack made me want to play it again.
Aside from the Hyrule Field theme, I've found Twilight Princess's soundtrack to be entirely forgettable, which is odd. I loved the game... but I just don't remember any of this music at all...

I just found out about this while listening to last week's Nerdy Show. There was an attempt to make a compilation album for the K.K. Slider songs from Animal Crossings by the same guy that organized Bound Together. A key medley didn't come together, so the project was canceled. However, the songs that were completed and some works in progress were released. You can read more about it and get the link to it's torrent here. I heard a couple of the songs, and they're pretty cool.

I kinda want to keep this thread alive, as I'm having a major geek out on Nintendo game soundtracks at the moment.
I've been creating playlists of music organised by series, and so far have complete Mario (platformer), Zelda, Metroid, Kirby, Pokemon and Mother soundtracks. I'm working on F-Zero and Star Fox.
I don't know where to find track names or anything for Star Fox Assault or Command, though. Does anyone know where I can find these?
I'm also trying to track down the Pikmin 2 soundtrack...

I tried to upload Pikmin 2's OST in one decent zip, but Megaupload won't let me. So I'll link to ffshrine's annoying 5 part upload instead. Part 1Part 2Part 3Part 4Part 5Also Starfox Command's page at Galbadia Hotel seems to have the correct names for the tracks. The Starfox Assault OST I have is tagged, but doesn't have any official names. boss1 boss2 etc
