I mentioned this aaaaages ago, but I found the website again today quite by accident. Adventure IslandIt's a Japanese website with the full solutions for Nintendo's text adventure games, which includes Shin Onigashima (and Heisei Shin Onigashima), Yuuyuuki, both Famicom Detective Club games, Time Twist and Forest of Beginnings. It does loads of third party ones as well as more recent games. Now, while the whole thing is in Japanese, the solution just lists which menu options you need to select to continue the story, which is ideal without having a translation patch. So if anyone except me and Parrothead has any interest in playing a bit further than the title screen in these games, then here's how you do it

But... even if it's ideal without having a translation patch, the game is still untranslated and it's a text adventure game.

Heisei Shin Onigashima is as unbeatable as ever.
And the Famitan games are just ... well, you can beat it anyways, there's no game overs. Your choice may affect your final rating, but that's it. You can't even lose.
The only place that got me confused in Famitan 2 (yes, I actually beat that, with no help) is that you have to choose the save option ("quit investigating") once to go on.

Oh indeed, but from what I've managed to play of Yuuyuuki, the crazy character animations tell quite a lot of the story, and there are a number of action sequences. But this is ideal for getting screenies ;D

I've been trying to play these recently myself, and I can definitely say that some of them rightfully SHOULD have translation patches.
I know for sure the famous Tomato (MOTHER 3) collaberated with some other guys on a patch for the SNES version of Detective Clube Part II (very excellent game by the way), so maybe they wouldn't be so adverse to Forest of Beginning or something like that after the supposed translation of Tomato Adventure is underway.

I definitely want to try Detective Club Part II sometime, as I always was interested in it since Melee. And I also love text/novel games like Policenauts and Ace Attorney.
