Queen Peach
The name of the luxury liner on the island is the "Queen Peach", clearly a reference to Princess Peach.

Beep Beep Beeeeeep!
The sound effect when you start any of the races has been taken directly from Mario Kart 64.

Plane Crash
When you crash the plane, your Mii ejects and a sound effect plays. This sound effect is from an old game, but I'm having trouble remembering which... Perhaps someone can help ;D

Wuhu Island
The island itself is going to show up in many games. It first appeared in early videos showcasing the Wii, and next appeared in Wii Fit.
Also, the name is possibly a reference to Mario's "woohoo", although difficult to confirm.

Here's footage of the plane with a crash at 1:32, that does play a retro sound effect. (Japanese version of WSR).

The Mario music plays when you fly over the Hill Village, it doesn't matter if you crash or not.

At night the same village says: "It sounds like someone is playing an NES. Sounds like he needs help though."

It is similar to that - and that was one of my first thoughts - but it sounds like it comes from an earlier game.

It's similar to Yoshi untransforming from a vehicle in Yoshi's Island. But the Wind Waker version is more similar.
