So apparently there's this new Disney game being made for Wii. A Steampunk RPG or something like that. Rumour is about a group of forgotten and abandoned Disney characters, like Mortimer Mouse, who have languished in a hellish cartoon limbo for decades slowly going insane and plotting their revenge on Mickey and the more enduring characters. I wonder if the Wii can make the game look as pretty as that concept art, but I'm looking forward to the inevitable battle between Mickey and Oswald. More concept art can be found here.

I've already talked about this on on message boards. Alls I gotta say is that it has the potential to be better than KH, and I hope it is.

That ain't Mickey on the rocket. It's Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, who predates Mickey by several years. He's the ultimate forgotten Disney character- Disney couldn't use him from 1929-2007 because they lost the rights. so if this is forgotten character's revenge, he'll be up there. Shades of Who Framed Roger Rabbit?. Here's hoping Eddie Valiant and Roger will play a roll. Speaking of, I'm putting out the theory that the paint thinner in the third picture is like the Dip in Roger Rabbit.

They should call it Steampunk Willie.

It seems the environments are based off of Disney World. I saw the Epcot's Spaceship Earth and the Hollywood Studios' Water Tower.

Here's some gameplay details. The game is being made by Warren Spector creator of FPS/RPG hybrid, Deus Ex (and its sequel, Deus Ex: Invisible War). It has been known for a while that WS is working with Disney on a Mickey game. Here's an article from Gamasutra talking about it. According to this resume, this game is indeed Wii exclusive. - use the Wiimote to paint your way through the landscape - draw/etch/erase levels as you progress through them - story based on old and forgotten Disney characters that are out for revenge against Mickey Source. Don't really know we should trust that source, seems kind of random. Also someone should've posted this epic image of robot/zombie Goofy. EDIT: People are saying it's an old character named Dippy. The narwhale image, I remember there was a whale in Pinocchio but was it a narwhale? I know this one was posted but isn't Tigger's face on the left arm and Jafar's face in it's stomach? (Yes, Tigger from Winner the Pooh and Jafar from Aladdin, what's next robot/zombie Piglet?).

They're probably calling the cyborg Goofy "Dippy" because his original name was "Dippy Dawg".

Yeah, I have a really old "behind the scenes" type cartoon showing Goofy being discovered. It has an executive convincing him to change his name to Goofy because "Dippy Dawg" isn't marketable. XD
My first thought when I saw the narwhal was Monstro, but he was definitely not a narwhal. He was a blue whale, I think.
And I had not noticed Oswald. That's awesome.

Well shit. This is pretty damn awesome. I've been wondering what the Disney/Spector combo would bring, and this is well beyond expectations.

Monstro is a sperm whale actually.
Notice on the back of that whale, the globe you see is the Spaceship Earth ride at Disney World that I was talking about earlier.
For those who have never been to Disney World.

I know this one was posted but isn't Tigger's face on the left arm and Jafar's face in it's stomach? (Yes, Tigger from Winner the Pooh and Jafar from Aladdin, what's next robot/zombie Piglet?). Don't forget the Peter Pan crocodile on the monstrosity's right...tentacle...? And Donald is in one of the knees, as well as a bird (Iago?). Forgive me for being skeptic, though. This strikes me as one great elaborate hoax. XD Disney green-lighting a project this morbid nowadays strikes me as incredibly unlikely-to-impossible. But you all know my opinion on contemporary Disney. And if this project is real, you can expect it to go the way of Project HAMMER and Duke Nukem Forever.

I took that to be the Fantasia crocodile and not Tick-Tock. Am I the only one?

The mouth looks a little like the Fantasia crocodile, but the eyes are definitly Tick-Tock.
You know if thevlevels are theme park based. I wonder if they'll include a dark version of the Tree of Life.
I can just see it covered in monsters instead of animals.

It certainly looks like the levels are going to be based on the parks. The private eye picture looks like a twisted mirror image of Toon Town, and the picture with the rocket looks like a vintage Tomorrow Land, back when they modeled it after a 1950s view of the future.
