Yet another goddamn Kirbychu project

Guys... I'm not gonna lie to you. I'm not good at sticking at my projects. The first one was beyond my control, but the second? Well, after losing the first, my heart just hasn't really been in it. Plus, in a way, the "big picture" thing is soul-destroying. I can add and add and add to it in every second of my spare time, and still not really end up with anything that looks even near finished. I'll perhaps continue to add to it occasionally, and maybe in a few years it'll start to look almost half done. But that's on the backburner now.

This is a better idea: single pictures! That way I can actually work on it for a few hours and end up with something finished! I have a few of these done already, and I actually have bios to go along with each one, too. The bios aren't online anywhere, since they're long (Mario's is ten pages!) but maybe someday I might actually make a website out of it. A kind of encyclopaedia of video game characters.

I'm just learning to use the pen tool, so I'm in the process of updating the ones I already have done using that. So far Klungo, Mario, Tikal and Fawkes have been updated. EDIT: All updated now.

As you can see, there isn't really any kind of theme to the characters I'm choosing this time around.

Excellent work, kirbychu! Your full-size artwork is better than those small drawings.

I like your Mario! It seems to capture the essence of the character.

Thanks, guys! It is a lot more satisfying to do full-sized pictures. If they turn out right, anyway.

I do a lot of agonising over what poses characters should be in, but Mario was easy. That iconic jumping pose is always the first thing that comes to mind for me. ;D I'm not happy with his left foot, though. I redrew it over and over, but I could never get it right.

Very nice, kirbychu. I can definitely say that your art looks a lot better this big (As much as I liked your older group pics). Keep posting! (And I need to watch you at dA...I'll have to remember that tomorrow)

Here's the latest one. This is the first one I've done without cleaned-up lineart already done underneath. I was using the pen tool to directly trace my original sketch... and my sketches are quite messy. So this is a little sloppy.

I have no idea what it's supposed to be... Sure was a pain to pen tool, though, with all those wavy jagged lines.

I have done another one, though I'm not happy with it. I've redrawn this guy what feels like a hundred times, but I can't get him right. So I just gave up and posted the best of them so I can move on. I just can't do anatomy.

Tikal's looking mighty fancy, but I don't think she'll see another game. At least, not without my patented "Game Insurance!"

In all seriousness, that is a fancy Tikal. And on another note, don't feel bad. Your Funguy wasn't creepy, a significant advantage your Funguy has over even the OFFICIAL Funguy.
