The music is all slightly better in the Wii version except for Mad Gear, which sounds worse.

Do you know anywhere I can listen to it? I tried YouTube, but I could only find the 360/PS3 music.

The only place I know of to hear it at the moment are play videos of the Wii version, sadly.

According to GoNintendo, Sega has officially confirmed that Episode II is now in the early stages of development. I haven't been able to access the source at Sonic Stadium since the page won't load for me. Anyway, here are some details: - SOA and SOE are both giving feedback and input on Episode 2 - Episode 1 sold well, which means this outing may have a bigger budget - there is a pre-determined amount of episodes - SEGA realizes that elements of Ep. 1 could have been better, and they're working on that for Ep. 2 - focus on bringing in zones with elements you haven't seen before - not a Sonic CD remake

That last bit is strange. Were there really people who thought it was going to be a Sonic CD remake?

I really hope SEGA realizes that we want the original physics back. Seriously when you go down a hill as a ball you'd expect to gain speed! Why do I stop in midair after spin dashing? I shouldn't be able to slowly walk up the side of a wall like Spider Man!

That last bit is strange. Were there really people who thought it was going to be a Sonic CD remake? Apparently, those comments came from Sonic 4 Product Manager Ken Balough in this thread at the official Sega forums. The remark about Sonic CD was a response to someone asking if Episode II was a remake of it. He also joking says that Episode II's development won't take as long as Duke Nukem Forever's.

According to Takashi Izuka, Episode II won't be coming out until sometime in 2012. Two years is a long wait between episodes, especially considering there were only nine months between Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles.

It's because all Sonic Team's resources are being used up on the anniversary. Sonic 4 was developed by their usual outsourcing studio, DIMPS. But DIMPS have their hands full with the 3DS version of Generations right now.

Ah, I forgot about the 3DS version, but... didn't DIMPS develop both Sonic 4.1 and the DS version of Colors concurrently?
And if Sonic Team is busy with Generations PS360, and DIMPS is busy with Generations 3DS, then what is Sonic Team "B" up to? Perhaps that rumored third "storybook" game that Sega said they had no plans for?

Hmm, I suppose they did manage to make Sonic 4 and Colours DS at once... But neither of those games were particularly good. Maybe they've got more people working on Generations. The fact that 4 and Colours DS both used 2D graphics might be a factor. Based on what Iizuka said, it seems likely that all of Sonic Team are working on Generations, at least at the moment. It's basically two games, after all. Maybe team A are doing the modern stages while team B handle the classic stages. Then again, I wouldn't be surprised if something was in the works for the Wii U.

According to GoNintendo, Sonic 4: Episode II is listed on Korea's Game Rating Board, which is kinda random. Not sure if that means anything or not. I'm wondering, tho, if Episode II will still come out for WiiWare at this point, or if it'll be held back for the Wii U.

Sega's Ken Balough said that he would be giving out a "hint" about Sonic 4: Episode II "tomorrow' (now today). ( Source) But while we're waiting for that, another rumor allegedly coming from an inside source claims that Episode II will retain the physics from Episode I. (Also that the first zone is called Cryptic Clock.) ( Source) I'll wait for the real hint. UPDATE: Here's the actual hint: If you’re an Episode II fan I would go back to where the Sonic 4 Campaign first began In a month filled with presents and Christmas hams think of the day, the HMS Warrior first swam Well, that doesn't reveal... anything. Except that maybe a real announcement is coming on December 29. Update 2:TSSZ Reports that the previous rumors are fake, but reports new rumors: that the physics will be even better than those in Sonic Generations, and the graphics will look less "glossy." Is it worth reporting these rumors?

The official teaser trailer for Episode II and an interview with Ken Balough are available at GameSpot here. There's no gameplay footage, but it does tease the return of Tails (and Metal Sonic, for those that never finished Episode I). Ken mentions that the game has a new graphics engine and a new physics engine, also noting that many of the issues that some people had have been addressed. (Uncurling, roll momentum, standing on walls, etc.) The game is announced for Xbox 360, PS3, Windows 7, and multiple mobile devices. (No mention of Wii? )
