This kinda came out of nowhere. Apparently Japan's getting a Pokemon party game on Wii before the end of the year. Info and screens. So, discuss, I suppose.

"Outside of the mini games, Pokepark Wii looks like it will have some collection value for Pokemon fanatics. You can snap pictures of Pokemon as they move about the park, saving your best shots to SD."
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
I wanted Pokemon Snap 2 . . .

When I first heard this I thought it was an actual adventure game. Wouldn't that be cool? Pikachu hopping on platforms, beating on bad guys, climbing ropes, etc.

When I first heard this I thought it was an actual adventure game. Wouldn't that be cool? Pikachu hopping on platforms, beating on bad guys, climbing ropes, etc. That would be the start of my ideal Pokemon spin-off game, and would subsequently have been awesome. But at the same time, you can take Pikachu, Pokemon Trainer, Jigglypuff and Lucario through any level of Subspace Emissary to achieve the same results, so I'm not terribly disappointed that this game doesn't do it. So far it looks like just another Poke-shovelware game, though I applaud the game makers for not using the Pokemon Ranch graphics. I'd like to be wrong, though, so I'll wait and see before handing down my verdict.

Aww, it's not the Pikachu platformer we've been a decade overdue for? I would love to see an epic, cartoony platformer/adventure game in the vein of maybe Zack and Wiki meets Mario Sunshine starring Pikachu, with completely original characters... something like "Pikachu and his random 3 Pokemon friends get sucked into a completely non-Pokemon world and can TALK."
Oh well, Pokemon Party works too

Aaaaaand here's the first gameplay footage:
There actually does seem to be some sort of fighting-adventure-ish type mode. Very nice.

Seems an awful lot like Captain Rainbow.
I mean how you travel around the park, making friends with Pokemon and solving their problems.

So this is that long overdue "Pikachu adventure" game. I've thought of something similar once, but this is an excellent big step for the series.
