Yes, you can read about it here, here, here, and here. Actually, for you Europeans, it'll be DSi XL. It's Japanese launch is November 21 and it'll be available in Europe the first quarter of 2010. From what I have seen and read, the DSi LL is much larger that the DSi. The stylus looks more like a pen than the previous styli. DSi LL will come in three colors: red, brown, and white. As far as capabilities go, DSi LL will have internal memory. In Japan, it'll come with Easy Meikyo Kokugo Dictionary, Brain Age Express: Art & Letters, and Brain Age Express: Math. I think it's a bit odd that they're launching a bigger DSi. Maybe they need bigger screens to show of the power of the hardware they cooked up with Nvidia? Perhaps they wanted a larger lens for their camera or more internal memory?

Or maybe they're seeing if people really do want their gadgets smaller.
I know I don't always want smaller stuff. I'm not James Bond, I'm a guy who enjoys comically large pockets. (Pockets are why I love winter.)

I read it's bigger because it's aimed to older people. You know, older people prefer larger fonts and pictures because of presbyopia, and making something like this follows the principle of "gaming for all ages".

Yeah, it's aimed at old people.
Also LL is actually what the Japanese use for XL in Japan.

Oh God, the red one...it's like every outright incorrect color scheme electronics companies used in the 80s all in one piece of fogeyist contemporary technology.
Seriously, is the DSi even a year old? They're already making new versions! Nintendo, stop! Don't oversaturate the market. Think of Atari ET!

Thank CHRIST nintendo brought out another version of the DS. God I haven't been able to get to sleep because there aren't enough versions of the DS.
If they actually brought out a new type of DS that is useful with decent memory and processor it might justify all these damned versions.

Also LL is actually what the Japanese use for XL in Japan. In addition (and I hadn't noticed it until I paid attention to lowercase URLs of news sites): DSi LL → DSi ll → DSi II → DSi 2Some old games that require user accuracy may be easier/cheaper to play on this model.

It's not like they're CEASING the production of the original DSi.

Is Miyamoto really in charge of releasing new Mario Parties? 'Cause I didn't think he was.

Well, he still oversees development of most Nintendo-published games, even those by third parties... so yes (although I doubt the mysterious catacomb from which they spawn can be found in Nintendo's HQ).
I think releasing a version of DS for grandma, and pre-loading it with grandma games, and giving a big fat pen like the kind grandma always has actually makes a lot of sense. Only insane collectors and grandmas will buy them.
Funny how nobody complains about the million versions of the iPod, all created for the same thing, but for different levels of user. People who have 5 albums and only use it for the gym, and people who pirate an insane amount of music and can fill a 160GB iPod, and walk around with it constantly plugged in to their ear holes...
At least this model has been clearly created for a specific target market, rather than replacing a legacy model. I actually think this is a good idea... unlike the DSi which is what the Lite should have been in the first place.

Is Miyamoto really in charge of releasing new Mario Parties? 'Cause I didn't think he was. That wasn't really the point of me posting it so much as responding to "It Prints Money" in the creepiest way possible. Would have thought that was pretty obvious. Also, because I think Miyamoto's neck really works like that. I actually think this is a good idea... unlike the DSi which is what the Lite should have been in the first place. Actually, the multiple kinds if iPods annoy me because I want to buy one and I have no idea where to start. I have a lot (a loooooooooooot) of music (only about 10% of it has been pirated).

Nobody complains about the million versions of the iPod? Oh boy yeah they do......... Check the apple forums and the apple blogs. That situation is far worse than Nintendo. Anyways.... heres an honest question; Are the cameras on the DSi worth it??
