Actually I'm with kirbychu on this one. It's all about reproductive organs. Just because it acts like a girl doesn't mean it's automatically female. If the robots are anything like they are in the real world, they're genderless machines no matter how many tits you add on it.
If they aren't and robots have oily robot sex to make little robot children, well I'm glad Sigma nuked the shit out of Megaman's world.
So... If we call Sheep Man "Sheep Woman" and nail some metal tits to it, you guys'll be happy?
Splash Woman wasn't a girl. Splash Woman was a machine designed to rescue drowning people. My aunt has a boat called "The Lady", but that doesn't mean there's gender diversity in the river. This is madness.
First of all, Ditto trumps all when it comes to Pokemon-breeding arguments. We humans may not have any clue as to how Magnemite have kids, and it's possible not even they know, but Ditto seems to, which implies there is gender in the mechanical Pokemon somewhere.
No it doesn't. It implies asexual reproduction. The Pokémon are still genderless.
As robots, they could reproduce asexually by, y'know... building other robots. But that would still leave them genderless.
Third off, we have no evidence that Dr. Light DIDN'T make them sexual. Remember, they're Androids. How far did Dr. Light go? No one can be sure. And so, once again, I bring back my point: What's Mario? We haven't seen his nuts, how do we know he's not a female? By the logic that Mega Man characters, who have no discernable genitalia, are all nonsexual, we're brought back to the capacity to question the gender of even organic characters since we haven't seen anything down below on them, either.
Shrikeswind, I'm afraid this part of the post is a new level of lunacy.
If Dr. Light didn't build any of his robots to have free will, why would he build them with the ability to have sex? Is he that much of a fucked up pervert? And if the answer is yes, then I don't think I want to play Mega Man any more. And they're Androids? Since when? I've only ever seen them referred to as robots.
I'm going to say it again: this is not about fictional characters. It's about... ROBOTS! Mario is male because he is a male human. Humans are not fictional, and non-fictional humans have gender. Robots are also not fictional, and non-fictional robots do NOT have gender. You can stick as many realistic jiggling boobs and cute asian faces on them as you want, but what you have, essentially, is a vending machine in drag. Not a girl.

To keep this thread from being shot out of a cannon into Hell, I'm going to reply in PM. Meanwhile, I'll continue coming by looking for news on MM10 and commenting on random crap. But this debate on robotic sexual capacity is rapidly becoming unfunnier and unfunnier and is just starting to feel like every response is RAGE.
Also, Sheep Man is a sheep. I wonder if he goes baa.
Need I remind all of you that this is MEGA MAN we're talking about. Realistic rules about robots don't necessarily apply here.
Saying that robots don't have genders as an explanation for why people shouldn't care that we didn't get another female robot master is just as dumb as raising a stink over the fact that we didn't get another female robot master.
Nester the Lark: Hello, NinDB world! Post your shouts here! (But be careful not to wake the neighbors. )

nocturnal YL: Guys, guys! I can't believe what I found in Zelda 1! The game features an Elimination Mode that for some reason not many talked about! I wonder if it's fun? (Don't actually try it.)

nocturnal YL: Hey, I can edit shoutbox posts! This is already better than Twitter!

Nester the Lark: It seems like Cadence of Hyrule should be more popular than it is. Are people put off by the rhythm aspect? Or the randomly-generated maps?
Jul 24, 2020 14:01:59 GMT -5
nocturnal YL: ↑ Might warrant its own thread, but I think mixing rhythm and other genres usually resuls in gameplay too difficult for many. I can't handle it well either, judging from my scores in Dedede's Drum Dash.

nocturnal YL: ↑ For me personally, it simply hasn't been considered. It's a download-only game (until now) from a series I'm unfamiliar with and didn't feel like trying out.

Nester the Lark: Ironically, I did create a thread for Cadence of Hyrule, but then deleted it thinking there wouldn't be any discussion on it. Maybe I'll go ahead and make a new one.

Shrikeswind: Something to bear in mind about the shoutbox if you’re not already aware: It doesn’t show up on the mobile version of the forums. This shouldn’t be a major problem, but it can make it difficult to get into discussions for mobile visitors.
Jul 26, 2020 1:40:18 GMT -5
Shrikeswind: Also the more obvious character limit issues, and the format not really being conducive to longer-term discussion. It’s useful but limited; threads definitely still have their place.

Shrikeswind: (Honestly, Proboards mobile is pretty bad in general, but...)

Nester the Lark: Not sure if this works on all devices, but you can force the desktop version of the forum by scrolling all the way to the bottom and clicking the "Desktop" link at the lower right.

Shrikeswind: I’m aware. I’m typing this from my phone. I’m just pointing out that, for people who aren’t aware or who may be casually checking in on their phone, the shoutbox won’t be visible on

Shrikeswind: Is there a Discord for NinDB, by the way? It’s very popular with them there young’ns these days, so it might help activity.
Jul 26, 2020 22:07:47 GMT -5
Nester the Lark: There is no NinDB Discord. There was a brief discussion of it a few years ago, but nothing ultimately came of it. I rarely use Discord, myself.
Jul 27, 2020 8:58:28 GMT -5
Shrikeswind: Hm. Seems like it might be a good idea if activity picks up. Not to be a pessimist but I do have my doubts that'll happen though.

Shrikeswind: Okay not a Nintendo topic but I kinda need to talk about this because I just learned it and it's a thing so bleh.

Shrikeswind: You remember Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame, right? So apparently, 5 year old me was incapable of discerning male and female in non-humans, because *apparently* there's a female gargoyle, and the goat's a boy.
