THE JOURNEY A NINTENDO TRIBUTE BY SYNC
What is this? The Journey is a remake of an old project of mines, which was essentially a huge IWBTG ripoff. However, i've recently been thinking it all over, and I got the perfect idea for not only it's revival, but a huge Nintendo tribute. You will traverse through many worlds as a... cube thing called Gyro, who ventures through the world of classic Nintendo games in search of a man who robbed him of all his possessions. It's resemblance to IWBTG is now very small, with only a few of the engine's elements seeming like it.
Do you have anything to show of this besides it's story? Screenshots 1 2 Downloads Engine Preview
How are you making this? Game Maker.
Can I help? Yeah, actually. I'll be sure to ask for suggestions from you guys a lot. After all, this board is the most knowledgeable i've ever seen in terms of Nintendo trivia.
Feel free to discuss this game here, may it be questions, suggestions, or anything else!
Sorry for late comment, I tried to download it before but it wouldn't let me.
Anyway it looks pretty good so far, you can make a pretty neat platformer like that. (Just don't make it as hard as IWTBTG, that game drove me nuts)
As I said, i'm trying to make the similarities to it very small; the difficulty in this game will be natural.
Oh yeah, and I need suggestions for the first miniboss. The only requirements is that it needs to fit the theme of a grassland, and should be from a NES/Gameboy game. Thanks in advance if anyone can help. (:
I take it you are doing Nintendo games, rather than games on Nintendo systems?
You got it backwards. =P I'll use any material from a game that was either on the NES or the SNES. Only requirement is that if it's a character encountered you're suggesting, it has to be from the video game universe. In other words; no Mike Tyson, no TMNT, no Batman, etc.
Nester the Lark: Also, I know YL isn't into speedruns, but he might be interested to know that RPG Limit Break is having a Gust marathon all weekend, including several Atelier games.

nocturnal YL: Ah… Bad timing. I didn't read this until now, when it's almost over.

Nester the Lark: Well, if you're still interested, they'll be uploading the replays to their YouTube channel later this week.

Shrikeswind: I like that Mayles put her back in her kneepads. What's the last game they were in? One of the Kongas? It was a good look for her, albeit very 90's.

Shrikeswind: The jokes call to me, their siren song a temptation I can hardly bear, yet I must stay my tongue. Confound my dirty sense of humor.

Nester the Lark: The replies I see to anything Nintendo posts on Twitter are probably an indication as to why they abandoned Miiverse and decided that social media should be someone else's responsibility.

nocturnal YL: As mentioned in Twitter, I'm currently playing Atelier Meruru DX. I'm thinking about writing reviews for the Arland series afterwards, as well as making a second Nintendo Switch review video after I finish either this or my next game.

Nester the Lark: ^ I would be interested in seeing your reviews of the Arland games.

Nester the Lark: So, there's been Hyrule Warriors and Fire Emblem Warriors. But guys, how about this: Punch-out Warriors! It's like Punch-out, but you fight all of your opponents at once!

Shrikeswind: Sounds punchy, but unless it's a real knock-out I don't think it'd be a hit.
