I'm hoping one of you guys can help me. I've looked everywhere for a completed savestate file of the original Game & Watch Gallery, but I can't find one anywhere. If anyone has one, could you let me know? I'm trying to collect loads of extra information on Game & Watch games.

I didn't even think it was possible to get GameBoy save states...
How would you go about using it?

Opening it up in an emulator and taking screenshots from the completed Gallery. I can then also "complete" the gallery from the other games as well, and then I have everything I need for the Game & Watch gamepages.

I've been trying for years to beat the original G&W myself. Where exactly does a person find complete savestates anyway?

Zophar's Domain is usually a good source. I got the rest of the G&WG savestates from someone over at TMK... but I just can't find anything to help with G&WG1... I mean, I'm good at Manhole and Fire... but that's it....

I do have one. Not "perfect", but I believe it has everything you need.
I'm at my school computer. Will send to you after I'm back home.

Remember, FryGuy64. After you get 1000 points in every version of all four games, a special Fire-like mini-game will come up and you have to be ready to record or take a screenshot it before it goes away. According to the game's official Japan-only soundtrack, the BGM heard in this mini-game is titled "Congratulations".
The easiest game to reach 1000 would be either Modern Manhole or Classic Oil Panic. I remember when I got above 2000 on Very Hard in Modern Manhole, and the speed of Classic Oil Panic doesn't increase. The hardest would have to be a tie with Classic Manhole, Classic Fire, and Classic Octopus.
You may think I sound like I have the save state, but I don't. I saw this when I was playing through an official copy of the game using a cheating device called Game Shark.

Thanks! ;D Do you know what's missing from it? I might be able to sort that out. I believe you need 1000+ points in every game in order to transfer the gallery data to G&WG2 and G&WG3. The hardest would have to be a tie with Classic Manhole, Classic Fire, and Classic Octopus. You may think I sound like I have the save state, but I don't. I saw this when I was playing through an official copy of the game using a cheating device called Game Shark. I found the easiest games to be Modern Manhole and Modern Fire, both of which I have over 1000 points on. But even on my original, 10 year old copy, I have never managed to get 1000 points in everything. I have been trying to find Gameshark codes for it, but I can only find one - infinite misses on Classic/Modern Manhole/Fire/Octopus... which means I COULD get over 1000 points on those three (six?) games, but it would be really slow and painful on the games I'm not good at. Annoying, because the later games have Gameshark codes for point multipliers. More Gameshark codes for the original game are also welcome, if you have them!! --------------------------------------------- Basically, any classic Nintendo game that has gone on to become a repeated minigame (mainly Mario Bros. and the G&W games) will have that information put onto their game pages. Here's what I've been able to come up with so far for G&W: Game Boy GalleryAll games have updated music and graphics. - Ball - Vermin - Flagman - Manhole - Mario's Cement Factory (listed as "Cement Factory") Game & Watch GalleryAll games come with original "Classic" versions and totally updated "Modern" versions featuring Mario characters and new gameplay. - Manhole - Fire - Octopus - Oil Panic Game & Watch Gallery 2All games come with original "Classic" versions and totally updated "Modern" versions featuring Mario characters and new gameplay. - Parachute - Helmet - Chef - Vermin - Donkey Kong You can unlock the following game in Classic & Modern modes: - Ball Game & Watch Gallery 3All games come with original "Classic" versions and totally updated "Modern" versions featuring Mario characters and new gameplay. - Egg - Greenhouse - Turtle Bridge - Mario Bros. - Donkey Kong Jr. You can also unlock and play Classic mode for the following games: - Donkey Kong II - Flagman - Judge - Lion - Spitball Sparky The following Classic mode game is a special unlockable gift game. - Fire (Reversed screen) Game & Watch Gallery 4All games come with original "Classic" versions and totally updated "Modern" versions featuring Mario characters and new gameplay. - Fire - Boxing - Rain Shower - Mario's Cement Factory - Donkey Kong Jr. - Donkey Kong 3 The following games can be unlocked and played in Classic and Modern modes: - Chef - Donkey Kong - Fire Attack - Mario Bros. - Octopus The following games can be unlocked and played in Classic mode only: - Bombsweeper - Climber - Lifeboat - Manhole - Mario's Bombs Away - Parachute - Safebuster - Tropical Fish - Zelda Game & Watch CollectionAll in their original format: - Donkey Kong - Greenhouse - Oil Panic Game & Watch Collection 2All in their original format: - Parachute - Octopus Includes an extra combo game: - Parachute + Octopus Wario Land 2- Flagman (As Flagman D.D. - a copy of the Flagman game from Game Boy Gallery, but with the main character sprites replaced with Wario Land enemies) Game Boy Camera- Ball (With the main character's face replaced with a photo) Cooking GuideUnlockable in its original format: - Chef DS Rakuhiki JitenUnlockable in its original format: - Ball Am I missing anything?

Sent the file to your hotmail account, Fry. It's a battery save rather than a savestate, because I think it's better that way. Carelessly handled savestates can easily overwrite stuff or get overwritten.
How will the Card e-Reader Manhole card be handled?
Aww, I hope I have G&W Collection 2. Playing Octopus and Parachute simultaneously sounds fun.
EDIT: On an unrelated topic, Oil Panic is my fav G&W game and I'm quite good at its modern version.

Thanks for sending that through. I got screens of all the museum games. Sadly, I still can't hook it up to G&WG2 to unlock the last few museum pieces because it needs everything to have 1000 points. But this is great anyway! ;D
e-Manhole will just be listed as an extra release date under Manhole.

This should be in the extra release date section of Ball. It's called Shining Imakuni?

Indeed, Johans Nidorino sent that one through to me last night. Hilarious stuff!
Oh yeah, I have some more G&W based questions:
1. Should Climber be merged with the Ice Climber section Sure, there's different characters, but the gameplay is virtually identical.
2. Should Boxing be merged with Punch-Out!! and/or Urban Champion... or neither A special release was branded as Punch-Out!!, but this seems to have been retconned out of existence. On the other hand, the gameplay for Boxing is almost completely identical to the gameplay for Urban Champion.
3. How should I handle the Mickey Mouse games One of the Mickey Mouse games is a copy of Egg with minor difficulty changes, and another is a copy of Donkey Kong Circus. Seeing as Egg and Donkey Kong Circus will have their own game pages anyway, should I group them together?

1. I say yes.
2. I say you merge it with Urban Champion but mention the whole Punch-Out!! ordeal.
3. Mention the corresponding Mickey Mouse game in each of those games' respective article.
