It's been a while since I last finished any art, but I've got the doodle bug again and I wanted to start an Art Jam here. The 8-bit days of gaming were awesome, but this wasn't always helped by the amateur boxart designs of the day. It's a miracle that Mega Man ever sold more than a handful of copies with its horrendous boxart! But those were more forgiving days, when the box was as likely to be thrown away as kept. In more recent times, one hopes they could do betterAnd so, for this art jam, I'd like you to update the boxart for an old game so it could sit alongside today's games with pride. How you do it is up to you! You could try to update the design on an old piece of boxart, or perhaps come up with a whole new design. I look forward to seeing what you come up with!

Excellent idea! I'm gonna turn this into something a little less gay.

Man, this is an awesome idea. I'll think about what I'd like to do and post up the old arts in a little bit.

Haha, Teev, I was looking at that boxart earlier today!! The Alex Kidd series is definitely in need of some work. Other suggestions include: - Anything on the Famicom/NES pre-1988 - Pretty much anything on the Sega Master System or Commodore 64 - Anything else that looks balls... And to note, I have created a DVD case style boxart for the Family Computer that I may use for a bunch of these

Here's my linework for my StarTropics piece. I'm very happy with it. ^_^ I'm not sure if I'll get time to color it any time soon, but I'll see what I can do.

I've done two more, but I haven't gotten them up yet. Any guesses to what they are? Hint - They're both Nintendo properties.

No one wants to guess, huh? No matter, as I'm posting one of them now! The second will follow tomorrow.
