OK, in an earlier thread we theorised about the names of enemies in Super Mario Land and came up with some "localised" versions.
And in this thread, Man-Frog suggested we could do Super Mario Land 2... which I quickly poopoo'd... but I figure why not, eh?
At the very least I can get you all started with the official Japanese names. In the few cases where there is an official US name, I have given it as well.
Returning enemies
Kuribo - Goomba
Patakuribo - Paragoomba
Nokonoko - Koopa Troopa
Patapata - Paratroopa
Pakkun Flower - Piranha Plant
Fire Pakkun - Venus Fire Trap
Pukupuku - Cheep Cheep
Bukubuku - Blurp
Honebone - Fishbone
Killer - Bullet Bill (although they look more like Banzai Bill)
Teresa - Boo
General Enemies
The following enemies appear in more than one zone.
Antotto - a large, walking ant
Goronto - an Antotto with a shovel
Chikunto - an Antotto with retractable spikes
Dokanto - an Antotto with a cannon on its head
Unibo - a sea urchin that wakes up when Mario is near
Bombom - a pig that spits cannonballs from its mouth
Nokobon Met (US: Noko Bombette) - a type of Buzzy Beetle that turns into a bomb when you jump on it
B-Fly - a hairy butterfly that runs away when Mario approaches
Tree Zone Enemies
Ragumo - mole with a drill for a nose
Kyotonbo - dragonflies that fly in a "standing" position
Bibibi (US: Spikey) - a spiky hedgehog that can roll into a ball
Pyonta (US: Bopping Toady) - a frog with a long tongue
Mogyo - a cow fish that lives in tree sap
Unera - a caterpillar
Togera (US: Grubby) - spiny caterpillars
Beebee - a small bee that comes out of honeycomb holes
Gaigo (US: Skeleton Bee) - the bees with a skull face that revive
Tamara - eggs with faces that come out of egg sacks
Buichi - a large bee that drops to the ground when Mario approaches
Herakras (US: Battle Beetle) - a beetle that walks then flies into the air

Toriuo - beaked fish that skim along the water's surface
Aqua Kuribo - a Goomba in a diving helmet (see also M&L:SS)

Poko - the small octopus spat out by Pako
Macro Zone Enemies
Keipu - A little thief that steals 1UP Hearts in Macro Zone

Tatenoko - a jagged saw that moves up and down
