The Zelda series is famous for its many hidden secrets that make you want to play the games over and over again until you come across them. I've compiled a little list that some people might find interesting, others may contribute as well... - The Cobble tribe from Phantom Hourglass bears a lot of similarities with the carpenters from past Zelda games, they were known as fantastic architects and even share similar names (Carpenters: Brac, Bremor, Mutoh, Brent, Doyle, and Mack. Cobble: Brant, Bremeur, King Mutoh, Brant, Doylan, and Max.). There is fan speculation that they are somehow related.
- Zunari from Wind Waker bears a strong resemblance to the Anouki from Phantom Hourglass. He even mentions coming a land far away where the blizzards blow violently.
- In Ocarina of Time, when Link is a child, there is a room with a guard and pots that can be broken. When Link is an adult, there is a Poe collector in the room. Some believe that the Poe collector is the guard after he was maybe killed or gave in to evil temptations. When he was a guard he said things would be more interesting if there were more troubles in the world and wishes ghosts would come out when he's on night watch. He also says that studying ghosts is a hobby of his.
- The symbol for the Kokiri can be seen on the doors in the Forest Temple from Twilight Princess, leading some to believe that the temple itself was built over Kokiri forest.
- The Oocca have faces similar to Grog from OoT and MM. Grog was a big fan of Cucco's.
- This is pretty well-known, but the Rito are the Zora's after they evolved to better suit a land environment (which is weird considering Wind Waker's atmosphere is like 75% water) and the Korok's are the Kokiri after they left the forest.
- There is speculation that Agahnim was a Zuna. The Zuna are a tribe in Four Sword Adventures with light green skin (Agahnim had light blue skin), and middle-eastern attire. The Zuna live is the desert which could explain why Ganon was partnered with Agahnim in aLttP.
That's it for now. This stuff is pretty crazy, makes me wonder what other little clues are hidden around in these games. Anyone got anymore?

In Wind Waker, at Hyrule Castle underneath the Great Sea, you will see stained glass windows that totally depict the six sages from Ocarina of Time at the room where you got the Master Sword.

- The Ocean King is a whale, just like the Wind Fish. You wake up from a dream/illusion in the games they both appear.
- Koboli of the Rito tribe resembles the Postman guy from the N64 games. His figurine says that an ancestor of his was a postman.

Isn't this symbol also depicted on the Forest Temple doors in Wind Waker?

Isn't this symbol also depicted on the Forest Temple doors in Wind Waker? Actually, yeah, and since it's called the Forbidden Woods, some people think it's the remains of the Lost Woods. Also, there are four Poe's in Arbiter's Grounds from Twilight Princess. They each have different attack patterns from any other Poe in the game. They also steal fire from torches which is exactly what the four Poe sisters did in OoT. Hell, the last Poe duplicates itself just like the last Poe Sister. Though this may just be a tribute...

Somebody on the board confirmed a while ago that there was a connection between the blacksmiths in Majora's Mask (who reforged the Kokiri Sword into the Gilded Sword), and the sword the Phantom Ganons use via the Hylian text on the latter. - The Ocean King is a whale, just like the Wind Fish. You wake up from a dream/illusion in the games they both appear.
- The postman of the Rito tribe that gives you jobs resembles the Postman guy from the N64 games
The Postman in Twilight Princess likewise resembles the N64's.

-Many games use the Zelda theme at some point. At the top of my head are Legend of Zelda (overworld, but derp here,) Link to the Past (overworld,) Link's Awakening (Tal Tal Mountain,) Majora's Mask (Termina Field,) and Wind Waker (Great Sea theme is a remix.) -Who wants cake? 300 Rupees (and not being Link) will get you some Deku Nut Cake at the Windfall Cafe. Deku Nuts do not seem to exist in Wind Waker, though this is iffy since there are large brown pods not unlike Deku Nuts in the Forbidden Forest. On a related note, the Deku Tree's seeds in Wind Waker look like Deku Nuts. Similarly, for 150 Rupees, any non-Link can pick up a Lon Lon Milk or a Zora Coffee. Neither Zoras nor Lon Lon Milk can be found in this game.

Isn't that sign written in Ancient Hylian? Since it's a dead language by the time of Wind Waker, spoken pretty much exclusively by dieties, that sign is probably an antique decoration rather than a menu.

EVERY sign is written in Ancient Hylian, as is Beedle's chart (and maybe Tingle's chart, but I can't read the little gnome's hand-writing to be sure.) I'm pretty sure that's a specials board.

Wind Waker is in fact full of Hylian. Another interesting note is that Hylian in Wind Waker is written with modified Japanese symbols, while Hylian in Twilight Princess uses modified English letters.
The Wind Waker Hylian was also used in Phantom Hourglass, Spirit Tracks, and in some areas from Ocarina of Time.

Here's a compilation of interesting things in Twilight Princess, many of which were discussed on these forums at the time.

Veran is most likely a Twili, since she shares the blue skin and orange hair with human Midna as well as the strong sorcery abilities attributed to the Twilight Tribe. She has an eye symbol like the Sheikah on her clothing, however, which would imply a connection with the Sheikah as well. Possibly this links the two races together?
Onox, still in Oracles, may be part Giant. In the NES games, the races weren't well defined and there were at least a few "giant" characters in the game, namely Gooma. Both Gooma and Onox attack by swinging large ball-and-chains around, and both are significantly larger than Link.
The Oracle games in general reference the classic NES games more than any modern Zelda game, though this may be because the Oracle games began as a remake/reimagining of the first two Zeldas (with a third, original, game to finish the "trilogy"). Veran's cohort, Vire, is named after and based on bat enemies from the first two Zelda games that have yet to reappear; also enemies like Lanmola, Darknuts, and Digdogger all come back for these games.
In the non-canon, but maybe it could be?, material from the '80s, the Link from the NES games came from a land called Calatia, north of Hyrule. He was an orphaned "forest boy."
Zelda 2 takes place in Eastern Hyrule, where all the towns share names with the sages (and one Kokiri bully) of Ocarina of Time.
The Zuna in Four Swords Adventures mention a Dark Mirror, which Link later finds, that summons numerous Shadow Links into Hyrule. The Shadow Links come from a "dark realm" on the other side, different from the "Dark World" the player travels to throughout the game. The mirror bears a similar appearance the Mirror of Twilight from Twilight Princess.
Ganondorf becomes Ganon in FSA by obtaining the Trident of Power from the Pyramid of Power. There is no mention of the Triforce in the game. It's possible FSA uses a separate, "timelined," or completely NEW Ganon for its story. The trident is similar to the one from ALttP.
The Nightmares inside the Windfish's Egg that Link fights in Link's Awakening are named after bosses from other games, including both Ganon and Agahnim. The final Nightmare bears a similar appearance to the eye-form of Vaati in the Four Swords games. It has been speculated that the Wind Fish is either a spiritual relative or reincarnation of a previous Link in the series, based on this reason. The appearance of an advice giving owl and characters similar to other Zelda games may support this.
The boss Barba in Zelda 2 is a mistranslation of the original Japanese name, Volva. This implies that this boss may be related to Volvagia of Ocarina of Time.

Someone brought up the composer brothers in another thread, so I took a look at them and noticed how similar to Mario and Luigi they are, see for yourself.
