For the Hammer theme from the Donkey Kong arcade, the Super Smash Bros. version sounds much closer to the NES version's than the slower arcade version's. While some early arcade games borrow some songs from other types of media, including the Dragnet theme being heard when Donkey Kong carries Pauline up the first stage, the Hammer theme is also based on another song. I noticed this while living in the Southern United States. That makes sense because Mario tries to charge toward his enemies with the Hammer. But we can still mention what the Super Smash Bros. version of the Hammer theme is specifically based on.
