I've noticed there has been no thread here about the music in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. So, with that being said, I would like to further discuss the music tracks (and to also request some help on some of the tracks, if that's OK. ) I think to best way to start is to start with the information on this page: super-smash-bros.wikia.com/wiki/Music_(SSBB)(Referred to as "that page" in the rest of my posts.) And then further add or correct any information that is wrong or missing. (I suppose the ethical thing to do would be to make an account there and make the changes myself, but I would rather hear what other people have to say instead.) The first thing I would like to bring up has to do with all of the "originals." For the original tracks on that page, it says they have been "taken" or "lifted" directly from the source game. This is actually not true for some of the tracks that I have compared so far. It makes me wonder if the Gamecube audio data was directly ripped from the games and put in Brawl verbatim. Maybe the Wii can't reproduce the audio exactly like the Gamecube can for some games because of hardware differences? -Underground Theme (Super Mario Bros.)-From that page: "An ambiance-laden hip-hop piece that remixes the Underground Theme from New Super Mario Bros., which in turn is an arrangement of the recurring Underground Theme from Super Mario Bros." I'm not 100% convinced that this track is an arrangement of the New Super Mario Bros. version. I can see why one would be lead to believe that since both the arrangement and the New Super Mario Bros. version both have "ambient" parts in them as well as having a similar beat. Though, the Super Mario Bros. 3 version also has a beat to it, not to mention that the tone of the main melody of the Brawl arrangement sounds more like the Super Mario Bros. 3 version. So... I'm not what to really think about this. It could be all just coincidence or maybe the arranger mixed in different parts from all of the different versions of the Underground theme. Anyway, here are the links to all of the different versions. Please listen to them and let me know how you think the Brawl version was arranged. Super Mario Bros. Super Mario Bros. 3New Super Mario Bros.:-Luigi's Mansion Theme- I haven't played Luigi's Mansion in a long time. With that being said, I don't have a huge problem with this track's info (other than the "the theme would vary with ... the activity around Luigi", because I don't remember that.) However, I just want to confirm that this only played in four different locations in Luigi's Mansion, if I remember right. And the locations are: the dark rooms that haven't been lit up yet, outside the mansion, when Luigi is standing idle and whistles, or hums.In addition, only part of the arrangement sort of resembles the dark rooms version. So, it seems like the arranger was really liberal in how they arranged this track. Thoughts? -Castle / Fortress Boss (Super Mario World / Super Mario Bros. 3)- "The latter sounds more loyal to the arrangement in the Super Mario All Stars version of SMB 3." Ehhh, I don't know about that. Many of the instruments in the Super Mario All-Stars version sound kind of loud and tinny compared to the Brawl arrangement. Actually, I would say the Fortress Boss arrangement is closer to the NES Super Mario Bros. 3 version. What do you think? All-Stars versionNES Super Mario Bros. 3 version-Main Theme (Twilight Princess)- "...this theme was composed during the developement of Twilight Princess, a synthesized version was used in the final version of the game." I don't know about the "synthesized" part, but, I agree. The track that is in Brawl sounds a lot different than what actually plays in Twilight Princess. -__- Comments? -Village of the Blue Maiden- The page doesn't mention this, but this track is actually a fast, brassy arrangement of the Kakariko Village track used in A Link to the Past and Ocarina of Time. Agreed? A Link to the Past Kakariko VillageOcarina of Time Kakariko Village-King Dedede's Theme- "This particular rendition of the famous boss music bears the most resemblance to the Kirby's Dream Land 3 song..." It doesn't to me. To me, it sounds more like the version in Kirby Super Star. In fact, I'm pretty well convinced of this, so I'm not sure where this person is coming from. Which version do you think the Brawl track is based off of? Kirby Super StarKirby's Dream Land 3-Boss Theme Medley-I have no problem with this particular track. Basically, I want to confirm that the part at 1:15 went through the following "evolution": Kirby's Adventure Arena -> Kirby and the Amazing Mirror
Miniboss -> Brawl Boss Theme Medley That page also says that this plays in the Arena in Kirby Super Star, but I definitely do NOT hear it.-Porky's Theme, Unfounded Revenge / Smashing Song of Praise, Mother 3 Love Theme, You Call This a Utopia?!-OK. I will admit that I have not played Mother 3. (I will before I do a video on Lucas's moves.) So, I will ask, does anybody see any problem with what has been written on that page? I checked out the Mother 3i and Mother 3+ soundtracks, and what was said about Porky's Theme coming from a few of the Mother 3i tracks is true. -Humoresque of a Little Dog- "...with a short interlude of the music from Fourside (EarthBound) towards the end." Not hearing the Fourside part. Earthbound - FoursideOther than that, the ORIGINAL source of this track is "When I'm Sixty-Four" by The Beatles. I found this out from this video I ran into. The part you want to watch runs from 1:34 - 2:14. (I'd recommend watching the whole thing if you're a Mother/Earthbound fan.) Also, here is the full song of When I'm Sixty-Four if you want to listen to the full version and/or compare it better to the drug/department store music from Mother 1 & 2. -Fire Emblem Theme- OK, I don't even know where to begin with this one, so I guess I'll start at the beginning. First, when Fire Emblem was released, Nintendo advertised it with a commercial that featured chorus-like singing. Then, Nintendo advertised Fire Emblem: Sealed Sword the same way, using a similar setting, similar props and pretty much the same audio.(As far as I know, those are the only two Fire Emblem commercials done in that style.) And then I stumbled upon this in my research.I wasn't aware of this track on any of the Fire Emblem soundtracks I've downloaded in the past. It's probably the full version of the song used in the original commercial and the one for Sealed Sword and is probably the source/inspiration for the Fire Emblem Theme track in Brawl. And finally, the part from 1:02-1:16 in the Brawl track... Is it part of the arrangement or does it come from somewhere? It sounds familiar to me, but I might have a false memory. -With Mila's Divine Protection (Celica Map 1)- "...with the Fire Emblem main theme integrated." What. If anybody knows what this is talking about, please enlighten me, because I'm not hearing it. >_> -Victory is Near- I played Path of Radiance after familiarizing myself with Brawl. And I only heard this track play ONCE in the entire game. It plays after all of the enemies have been defeated in Chapter 6, right before Ike is required to escape the map in order to clear it. In normal gameplay, not enough time is given to let this track even loop ONCE. Example of this in normal gameplay. (The part you want is from 4:41 to 5:09.) Given all of this, I find it both funny and strange that this track was included in Brawl since it barely plays at all in the original. Basically, I just want to confirm this is the ONLY place this track plays in the game - that I didn't miss any other places when I played through Path of Radiance. -Skyworld- "A familiar marching song by John Philip Sousa can be heard." So... that page is saying that Hirokazu Tanaka ripped off John Philip Sousa for a Famicom game? And what marching song by John Philip Sousa would resemble the Skyworld arrangement in Brawl? Does anybody have any idea about this?

-Ai no Uta, Tane no Uta- OK, to start out with, both of these were originally various short 30-second or so clips used in commercials to advertise their respective games. (Ai no Uta: Pikmin, Tane no Uta: Pikmin 2) How many different commercials were made for each game? On YouTube, I found three commercials for Pikmin and five commercials for Pikmin 2. Is this right? Ultimately, I would like to use all of the commercials when I make the videos for these tracks. Anyway, both were made into full-length songs and sold on music CDs with Ai no Uta being a single. And both were put into Brawl. -Ai no Uta (French Version)- OK, first question. How was Pikmin advertised in France and/or Quebec, Canada? If it was advertised on television like it was in Japan, was the French version of Ai no Uta used? Or was this track just something made only for the Pikmin World OST? (Look at track #36.) -Environmental Noises- Is this track an actual rip of the sound effects from Pikmin and Pikmin 2 or is it just a generic recording of nature sounds? -Brain Age: Train Your Brain in Minutes a Day- "...and then it loops the first game's menu screen theme..." Well, sort of. When the game is first turned on, the title screen music continues to play in the menu until a game is played. When the results are displayed, then the "menu screen" theme plays during the results and throughout the menu until the next game starts. "...with the second game's variants of the ... calendar screen theme..." Not hearing it. Both of the "menu themes" (calendar screen) in the track sound the same to me. Brain Age "menu theme"Brain Age 2 "menu theme"I really don't hear Brain Age 2's menu theme in the Brawl arrangment. Am I missing something? -Tetris: Type B- I've heard rumors that Type B is based on "Kalinka". But I highly doubt that...-Title (Big Brain Academy)- "...and Big Brain Academy: Wii Degree" What. Not hearing the Wii version in this arrangement. This seems to be pretty much all the DS version. What do you guys think? DS VersionWii VersionAlso, I think there is a reason this track is used on the Distant Planet stage. In Pikmin 2, sometimes the Pikmin would sing in certain circumstances. The arrangement of Big Brain Academy's Title music sort of resembles Pikmin singing. Opinions? -Super Sonic Racing- "...as well as the final race track, Radiant Emerald, when Super Sonic is the player character." I confirmed this (I have Sonic Gems Collection) and have no problem with it. However, I have a friend who swears up and down that this song plays in other parts of the game, other than the title screen. Does anyone agree/disagree? -Sonic Heroes- "...which was played during the introduction sequence." I have a copy of Sonic Heroes (Sort of boggart-ed it from my younger brother when I moved out, but never played it past the first stage.) and looked for this track in-game so I could get a capture of the original context, in case I decided to do a video on it. However, I could not find the "introduction sequence" that this track plays in. Turning the game on and letting it sit or starting a new file didn't lead to anything where this song played. Is the information on that page incorrect or am I doing something wrong? -HIS WORLD (Instrumental)- I've never played Sonic the Hedgehog 2006, but I did some research on this track and found this Wikipedia page."...The main theme for the game and also Sonic The Hedgehog's theme. Several Wills features three versions of the song - the first being the actual version used in the game with vocals provided by Zebrahead members Ali Tabatabaee & Matty Lewis. The second version of His World (track 5 on the disc) is performed by all members of Zebrahead. The third version is performed by Crush 40, led by Hardline vocalist Johnny Gioeli and SEGA music producer Jun Senoue. The Crush 40 version was arranged by Johnny Gioeli and features engineering by Lee Brotherton (aka Bentley Jones). Lee Brotherton also did a Balled version called 'His World Blue Prelude' to mark seventeen years of sonic the hedgehog and for the Summer of Sonic 2008, held in London, though this version does not appear on Several Wills. The song was used numerous times in the game in different arrangements, such as the second phase of the Solaris battle. An instrumental version of His World appears in Super Smash Bros. Brawl." Um, OK? So is there only one version used in the game or is there several different arrangements? THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR ANY HELP YOU MAY GIVE ME.

I might have a reason for the ship deck 2 fiasco. "Snakey Chantey", a secondary ship deck theme frmo Donkey Kong Country 2 is based on "Gangplank Galleon" from the first game. It first shows up in one of Rattley's levels in Krem Quay, Rattle Battle, if I'm not mistaken. In this case, it would be the second ship deck theme from DKC2, with Klomp's Romp being the first.
I'm not sure even I believe that, but it makes the most sense.
EDIT: Sorry, just saw that you mentioned that. They both share the same melody (is that the right word?), so I still see *how* it could be true, but like I said. I don't buy it myself.
"Love Theme" plays during act transitions in MGS4. In addition, you can unlock the "Love Theme (Action Version)" for an ingame iPod, which is the Brawl version!
And the bit about Ridley's name seems like a forgone conclusion, honestly. It's well worth a mention, even if it can't be objectively proven. Although it could wait for the inevitable history of Ridley video as well.

The "Tunnel Scene" theme can be alternately titled "Tunnel Scene 1" to avoid confusion between "Tunnel Scene 2" (as heard in tunnels in most missions) and "Tunnel Scene 3" (as heard in Mission 5, which is nothing but an emergency alarm sound). And yes, other than the first tunnel after training, Tunnel Scene 1 is also heard in the last tunnel before the credits roll.
For the Dr. Mario - Fever theme, it isn't based on the NES version's, it's based specifically on the Game Boy version's, because the NES version lacks the finishing touch the Game Boy version has. Due to home console gaming being more popular than handheld gaming at the time, many focused on the home consoles and thought the SSB version of the Dr. Mario - Fever theme with the finishing touch at the end originated from Tetris & Dr. Mario for the SNES, a home console exclusive. The NES version may sound like the first version of Dr. Mario, but that and the Game Boy version were both released on the same date, while the Game Boy version's sound superior, not only because it has the finishing touch, but it also has stereo.

First, I have to apologize for taking such a long time to reply. I've been VERY busy over the last few weeks. =/ Second, it looks like the YouTube account that had all of the Brawl tracks uploaded, that I linked to, has been suspended. Great. -_- Third, something I forgot to mention in the first post. For those of you that majorly help me with these tracks in some way, I will give you credit. I don't intend to gather a bunch of knowledge and then pass it off as my own in my videos. I have given credit before and I will do it again. Anyway, thanks for your replies, Qu and parrothead. Qu, If a variation of K. Rool's theme played on the second ship deck level in Donkey Kong Country 2, then I suppose that it's sort of a reason why "Ship Deck 2" was added to the Brawl title, though I would also agree that it's still a pretty weak justification. =/ "Love Theme" plays during act transitions in MGS4. During "act transitions", eh? I've never played Metal Gear Solid 4 before (or any of the previous titles) so I don't know what that means exactly, but I'm sure I'll figure it out once I start playing the game. Thanks for the info! About Ridley's name (and Metroid being based off of Alien, etc.), I would also agree that it can't be objectively proven. Since you think that it's worth a mention, and since I try to discuss the title of the tracks when appropriate, I think I will talk about Ridley's name possibly being based off of Ridley Scott in the Vs. Ridley music history video, whenever I get around to doing that particular track. parrothead, I knew there were two "Tunnel Scene" tracks in X, but I didn't know about the third one. And thanks for letting me know where the original to the Brawl arrangement plays in addition to the tunnel after training. I'll have to include the tunnel before the credits in the Tunnel Scene music history video, since the first tunnel is just long enough to barely let one loop of the track play. (Would have made it hard to edit to make the video flow smoothly with only enough footage for one loop of the track.) About the Fever theme, are you saying that this is something that would have applied to the Melee track or the Melee track in Brawl or both? (The Brawl versions of Melee's tracks sound like crap in my opinion.) Yeah, when I made the video on it in Melee, I hadn't considered the Game Boy's version. And when you say the "finishing touch", do you mean the ambient-like sound effects at the end? Also, am I mistaken in thinking that the Brawl version of Chill primarily comes from the NES version? After all, there are sound effects from the NES version in the track. About the tracks that are extended and whether that extension has a source or is just part of the arrangement... For now I'm going to assume that they are just part of the arrangement and make the video on these tracks reflect this since I don't recognize any of the extensions as having a source. About the tracks that I need better translations for, I think I am going to a forum board that is about song translations and see if I can get a better translation for certain songs (and a transcription for the Latin Fire Emblem Theme.) Some songs I guess I will just accept the translations that are already on their series's Wikis. I think I'll edit the first two posts and get rid of tracks that I don't have any real question about to reduce the post size.

I apologize for hearing about your uploads being suspended.
Anyway, for "Tunnel Scene 3", I accidentally forgot to finish my previous reply, which didn't tell all about "Tunnel Scene 3", so here is what I'll say about it: it's from Mission 5 and it is only an emergency alarm sound.
For Dr. Mario, compare the NES version OST to the original Game Boy version's, starting with Fever.

Fry appears in the Smash forums for the first time in a long while! I have input here, having done a fair amount of my own soundtrack ripping and listening to the Brawl soundtrack for many a year now. Underground Theme (Super Mario Bros.)This song has been remixed so many times that it's hard to say where any particular inspiration came from. However, on the subject of New SMB, I'd call it out. New SMB's underground stages are based more on those in Super Mario 64's Hazy Maze Cave, but very few (if any) of the ambient effects in either show up in the Brawl version. I would say it's just a remix of the Super Mario Bros. underground theme, with the faster beat from SMB3. Luigi's Mansion ThemeLiberal is being kind. The first time I heard this (before tagging the tracks) it took a while before I worked out what game it was from! The original track is very understated and this is a very loud, busy version of it. The tune didn't change depending on Luigi, but Luigi was either whistle or hum it depending on his health. And he would also do it over the top of the track in the background in the dark rooms. I don't recall if it played permanently outside the mansion... I thought the exteriors were just rooms, and they would also go silent if you cleared them. Castle / Fortress Boss (SMW/SMB3)I wouldn't say it sounds more like one than the other to be honest. SMB3 or SMAS... aside from comparing 8-bit to 16-bit synth, there's really little change in the latter. Main Theme (Twilight Princess)There are a couple of arrangements of the Hyrule Field ("Main") theme in Twilight Princess and one of them (the one that starts with a loud fanfare) sounds pretty much identical to the one in Brawl. However, the Brawl version also seems to go on for a little longer, while the one in TP loops earlier. Village of the Blue MaidenIf mucking about with Audacity is anything to go by, it's about 1.5 times faster, but yes, it's the same song as Kakariko Village with a few little flourishes thrown in. King Dedede's ThemeIt's certainly the longer version that first appeared in Kirby Super Star, but trying to pick between KSS and KDL3 for which one it sounds most like doesn't help. KSS is brassy, while KDL3 is more like a warped stringed instument before segueing into brass. Brawl sounds like warped electronic effects followed by piano, while the brass follows it in the background. Just a different set of instruments. Boss Theme MedleyActually, the track does appear in Kirby Super Star under the title "Going After Dyna Blade". It's got the same rhythm and twinkly noise in the background as the K&TAM version. It may play elsewhere, but it's been a while since I played KSS. Porky's Theme, etc. etc.Mother 3 has something like 250 music tracks, all with different names, and many of them variants on each other. The Mother 3 soundtracks basically provide "master" tracks that give us the song title that dozens of other songs will also use. Porky's Theme is "His Highness' Theme" and "LOG-O-TYPE" in the soundtrack (the stuff about the Mother 3i soundtrack is pointless). As for "Unfounded Revenge / Smashing Song of Praise"... The entry is mad. The songs are called Unfounded Revenge and Smashing Song of Praise... but there is no "Misplaced Revenge" or "Anthem of Destruction" (this second is probably "Wasteful Anthem", which is a variant of Smashing Song of Praise). Humoresque of a Little DogAgreed, there's no Fourside in there... but I presume it's talking about that extra tune sandwiched between the second the third parts of the shop theme. It's gotta be something! And of course there's the question of where the hell the song title came from, as it's not called that in any of the games or soundtracks Fire Emblem ThemeRemember that back in the 80's-90's, Nintendo had vocal soundtracks released for just about everything. I presume the one in Brawl is a new recording, but the advert for the game would have preceded any soundtrack. I guess it's a canonical advertising campaign! They seemed to have a few of those back then. With Mila's Divine Protection (Celica Map 1)No, I don't hear anything. It's just the Celica Map 1 song... Some people have very active imaginations. SkyworldFirst, the Skyworld track in Brawl is mislabelled, as it's actually the Overworld theme from Kid Icarus. After the main part of the track goes quiet, the track drops into a tune which I have long suspected to be from something else... but I haven't been able to confirm anything. EDIT: This bit...It was fairly common for Famicom musicians to use elements from public domain tracks. The Mysterious Murasame Castle ends with the graduation march, for example. Ai no Uta / Tane no UtaI was under the impression the tracks were released alongside (or close to) the games. Clips were probably taken for the ads. Brain AgeAs far as I can tell, it goes: 1. Brain Age title screen 2. Brain Age menu 3. Brain Age 2 title screen 2. Brain Age menu 3. Brain Age 2 title screen etc. Title (Big Brain Academy)Agree. The Wii version uses a little bit of the DS game's theme, but nothing in the Brawl version suggests anything other than the DS game was used. I'm also fond of the idea it was picked for the Pikmin stage because of the funny little Pikminesque voices

I've looked for ages for an origin, and so can say with confidence that Tetris B-Type is just Tetris B-Type. It draws clear influence from Russian and Gypsy music, however, it's entirely original. So, comrade, that's the answer, at least it is now, da? But I shall remain vigilant, for I shall soon find her source.

Thanks for your replies, everybody! ;D Qu, I actually have two different rips of the Brawl soundtrack, among many other games. Thanks for the offer though. I was only providing those links so people could easily listen to the tracks without much hassle. (So much for that.) FryGuy, I can't directly reply to every track you've commented on (since it's hard to reply to or comment on pure information) but you've given me a lot of information and new perspective on a lot of the tracks. Thanks! I can reply to what you've said about these tracks, however: Underground Theme (Super Mario Bros.)True, this track has indeed been remixed and reused in various fashions many, many times. What you say about Hazy Maze Cave and New Super Mario Bros. makes sense, so saying that the Brawl version is basically just another remix with inspiration from Super Mario Bros. 3 makes sense. Castle / Fortress Boss & King Dedede's ThemeSince both of these tracks are debatable as to what exactly the "originals" are, then I think I will show all possible "originals." Well, I will for King Dedede's Theme at least and probably for Castle / Fortress Boss. The 16-bit Castle Boss still sounds kind of tinny and high-pitched to me compared to the 8-bit version. (I'm not arguing with you Fry, it's just what I hear.) I'll still probably include the 16-bit version in the Castle / Fortress Boss video, but contrast it to the Brawl version or something just to make sure it's in the video for the sake of completion. For some reason, the 16-bit Super Mario All-Stars tracks never did bode well with me. Boss Theme MedleyIndeed it does play in the "Going After Dynablade" track in Kirby Super Star. Thanks for that Fry. But my God, these three are very different. Kirby's Adventure www.youtube.com/watch?v=P6gvjfgY6_MKirby Super Star www.youtube.com/watch?v=-yuAs0_M3DcKirby and the Amazing Mirror www.youtube.com/watch?v=IoAcSpwsJOAAfter listening to all three of them, I would have to say that the Brawl arrangement is definitely closest to Kirby and the Amazing Mirror. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dk-EhDHFHW4Porky's Theme & other Mother 3 tracksReally? You think that Brawl doesn't pull anything from the Mother 3i or Mother 3+ soundtracks? From the tracks I acquired and listened to, the instrumentation in a few of the tracks was really similar to what is in Brawl. The Snowman track on the Mother 3+ soundtrack (give it until 1:03) is very very similar to what is in Brawl. Also, if you listen to the 15th track, From Utopia, at 1:39, it's basically the exact same track in Brawl as Porky's Theme. =/ Brawl Snowman - www.youtube.com/watch?v=dZQFCAP5MIEBrawl Porky's Theme - www.youtube.com/watch?v=qpwx7nbj_QkAs for the differences in track names that were discussed on "that page," I assumed it was because of difference in translation. Also, what do you think of this entry for "You Call This a Utopia?!": This is an arranged version of the New Pork City theme, which is itself a mix of three Porky based themes from Mother 3, including Porky's Theme, The Pig King's playroom and the end of DCMC's track, Theme Of King P Humoresque of a Little DogYou sure it doesn't come from any soundtracks? This is the Mother 1+2 original soundtrack. For some reason, all of the track titles for Mother 1 are in English and the name they gave for the soundtrack's arrangement of the shop music is "Humoresque of a Little Dog," even though that title is more of a Mother 2 reference. (Because of the dog that explains things in the first drug store in Onett.) Weird. Also, there is another issue with this song that I discovered after my initial posts. I had discovered that the shop music from the first two Mother games may be based on The Beatles' "When I'm Sixty-Four." Well, then I discovered this. Basically, there is a piece of guitar music called "Dallas Rag." I will admit that I don't know much about this but it is VERY similar to the Mother series' shop music. Problem is, I can't really find any information on "Dallas Rag." What do you guys think of all of this? SkyworldSo, Famicom tracks sometimes use public domain tracks, eh? Very interesting. That might actually explain the track above. The part you clipped out of the Overworld track sounds familiar to me, in a sense that I would have played it in band in high school (or heard it from some other "classical" music source), but I wouldn't even know where to begin trying to figure out where it would have come from. Ai no Uta / Tane no UtaLooking at all of the dates... It seems that the game was released in October 2001 in Japan while the Ai no Uta CD single was released in December 2001. However, according to Wikipedia, the commercials were also used to stimulate low sales... Meaning the commercials were aired after the game was released. Looks like I'll have a lot of explaining to do for this one. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ai_no_Uta_%28Strawberry_Flower_song%29As far as Tane no Uta, Pikmin 2 was released on April 29, 2004 while the single was released on May 19, 2004. Not sure when the commercials would have started airing for Pikmin 2. I've looked for ages for an origin, and so can say with confidence that Tetris B-Type is just Tetris B-Type. Awesome, thanks for your input! In Brawl's version (With Mila's Divine Protection), the FE main theme starts at around 1:22. Wow, I can't believe I've never heard that before. I definitely hear it now. Thanks! supersonic, thanks for getting back to me on the Sonic tracks. I was kind of worried I wouldn't get any feedback on those since this is a Nintendo board. Anyway... His WorldWow, that track sure has been remixed multiple times! Thanks for posting all of those YouTube videos here. What do you know about soundtracks? I've found a longer version of the "normal" version of this track. Does the longer version also play in game or is it exclusive to any soundtrack(s) that may exist(s)? Super Sonic RacingRight, I know that this track has been remixed a few times, but what is in Brawl is the original. So, other than the title screen and when Super Sonic is played on the Radiant Emerald course, does it play anywhere else? Sonic HeroesOK, I figured out what I was doing wrong. In order access that intro that you posted, you have to idle at the title screen for several seconds. Sometimes it will play demos of gameplay on random stages, but it will also play the intro. After I discovered this, I went ahead and captured the video. So, unless this same song plays in other parts of the game, it looks like I have what I need. Though, what is used in Brawl is longer than what is in the intro. From what little research I've done, it seems the Brawl version is a cut version of the full version on the Sonic Heroes soundtrack. (There seems to be two or three different soundtracks for this game, lol.) It seems like the part from 1:08 to 2:00 in the original soundtrack version was cut out for the Brawl version. Then the rest of the track after 2:53 was also cut out.

That Snowman track on the Mother 3+ soundtrack does sound very similar. As for the Mother 3i soundtrack, I'm sure the tracks are cleaned up and mixed-together rips from the game. Gah! I didn't even know they did a separate soundtrack with track names for Mother 1+2! I'd say that the shop theme is inspired by ragtime music... That is until I listened to this rendition of Dallas Rag... Listen all the way to the end... It pretty much finishes in the exact same way as the shop. Although I'd still say the rest of the song was different enough. Thanks for all the research and information! Always interesting!
