Wikitroid (a Metroid wiki) has a link to a Retro Studio employee named Matt Manchester who did enivironmental art fro MP3:C, a blog post of his shows off a large amount of images of rooms he worked on. (warning large amount of images) Also location spoilers for MP3:C obviously.
Including:
- Putting in references to past Metroid games (zebetites like barriers from Metroid, Chozo statues with armor like Samus's)
- Detailed info about Metroid biology with references to Prime 1,2 and SM. Would not be surprised if he put the reference to Metroid Dread in the game, because he designed the room and the wrote Metroid info/text in it.
- The unlockable dioramas
- Backstory about the gods/history of the planet Byyro (some stuff did not make it due to size constrants but interesting to read).
He also created this wonderful Metroid sprite . . . out of NES cartridges (Now donated to Retro Studios).
Now for those with Donkey Kong Country Returns, can you check the credits list in the instruction manual or game to see if he is still at Retro? I wouldn't be surprised if he put some of the cameos in that game.
