Couldn't find a thread for it so I decied to make one here. So, who else is playing Golden Sun: Dark Dawn? I really am enjoying this next-generation adventure with Matthew, Tyrell, Karis, and others.

Finally someone started a thread like this.
What more can I say? I hate my local importers. I can't buy the US version of this game here, and I don't want to stay with the JP version (localization name changes and whatnot, since I played the US version at first...).
So I either have to switch or hope that someone I know from Europe will bring this game to me. But the chance isn't that good.
Oh, and from 3DS onward, I'll have to pick either path: Japanese version or North American version. And I hate that, since Nintendo is known for its language version inconsistencies and sometimes the Japanese game is better; other times the opposite.
From what I heard about GS3, it isn't that good of a game, suffering from being a half-made game story-wise. It's so typically Camelot. Gameplay and graphics were excellent though.
I hope the game isn't too short. As a Golden Sun game, it should provide 50 hours of gameplay per run, with all level grinding and whatnot.

Oh, I have read some negative opinions about it but I still found myself enjoying it. Does it matter how long the game lasts if you actually enjoyed the game? Maybe your mileage may vary. I think that maybe the critics are being a bit too nostalgic about the first two games and then seven years later, we get a new game and it isn't as good as the first two games. Uh, sounds like Melee vs. Brawl to me. LOL
As for myself, my party are in their early 40's and I have over 35 hours of play time so far. I now understand why the game is called Dark Dawn. It refers to a major in-game event that I will not spoil for those who have not played the game yet.

Sorry for bumping this... but have anyone else already finished the game yet? I finally beat the final boss. But damn, now I gotta wait for Golden Sun 4??

I'm almost at the end of it. My overall opinions are:
- Getting the game itself is difficult enough. It made me try using online payment services (ultimately I did not use that due to ultra-high bank charges) and went to several stores. I ended up asking my friend in UK (with an account in my hometown) to mail it for me.
- This game is easy, but that's probably because I haven't played the post-game dungeons yet.
- This game lacks random encounter whatsoever. In the world map it's fine, but within dungeons monsters seldomly show up.
- This game is just... dark. Not as dark as Eternal Darkness, but it's at least on par with Super Paper Mario. Both SPM and GS3 surprised me by being Nintendo-published non-horror games with that sort of contents.
- Dungeons are too short (Not kidding either; one-screen caves and 4- or 5-screen mini-dungeons are commonplace). I don't think we'll ever see anything with lengths comparable with Air's Rock in later games, though.
- I'm all for Spiritshipping.
- This game is not comparable to GS2 at all, but is a good game regardless. Still, I'd lament about those points of no return and the lack of a real post-game (being able to visit the world post-eclipse will definitely give more insight to the game).

What is a screencap, do anyone know? It's a mystery. I don't think anyone on this entire forum knows what a "capture of a screen" means. I think it's the same as a cheat code, but I could be wrong.

Oh! I know, I know!
A screencap is a cap you put on a screen to keep the picture from spilling out. Handy for car trips.
This video should explain the whole thing:
