www.gamefocus.ca/?nav=new&nid=12535www.andriasang.com/e/blog/2011/01/20/konami_hudson_takeover/Any thought? I guess this could ba a good thing. Hudson has been silent for quite long (other than that Deca Sporta thingy), and their previously popular Bomberman franchise is mostly downloadable games now (somewhat meaning it didn't scale up with the rest of the games that took advantages of larger storage volume)... Maybe this arrangement will bring in something new in Hudson's franchises. ...And hopefully, not this.

Whatever happens, I still keep my heart ahead for Hudson. Whatever happens to that company, I can't still think Konami and Hudson as one company by the way of franchises and stuff. (-l_l;-)
Besides, who makes the new Mario Party? Konami?
Or Star Soldier and Gradius getting mixed up?
Bonk and Goemon teaming up?
Snake gets lost in Milon's Secret Castle?
Otomedius gets a Star Soldier-girl?
Densetsu will be mixed with Getsu Fu Maden?
New Parodius-game will be having Air Zonk? 8=DDDDD
Adventure Contra Island!!!!
BLOODY AWESOME F''CKING ROAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR (MY CHILDHOOD GAME GETS AWESOMED UP TO ELEVEN)
Along with Taito that had mixed up with Square... I haven't seen any good original-Taito game for years. (-ll;_)
DARIUS BURST, MAAAANNNNN

Will Hudson still be its own brand name, or will it all fall under one "Konami-Hudson" identity?

I think when large companies buy up much smaller ones, the smaller one will likely either cease to exist, or operate as one of its development houses.
So it's either Konami Bomberman, or every Hudson-developed game will be published by Konami.

From what I'm hearing, it sounds like Hudson is being completely devoured. But will Konami still keep the Hudson label?
Square Enix bought out both Taito and Eidos, but their games still carry the names and logos of those companies (in addition to the Square Enix brand).
So, when the next Hudson-originated game comes out, it may be published by Konami, but could it still have the Hudson logo on it?

I expect they'll be absorbed but not totally destroyed. The Hudson label will no doubt live on for "Hudson" games, much as Taito still exists under Square.
No point absorbing a studio just to destroy it.

According to a (soon-to-be former) Hudson employee, only Hudson Entertainment (the NA subsidiary) is shutting down. Hudson Soft in Japan will still exist. But the North American office is closing at the end of the month, and "all of Hudson’s previously planned projects have been canceled". Hudson Soft will focus on social games.
