Maybe it is time for me to buy a PS3 (or PS4) if I want some Capcom games... *looks at Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and Super Street Fighter IV and a possible future Okami sequel*

... Except that Capcom already has at least two Wii games and nine DS/3DS games scheduled for release this fiscal year. Sure it's a drop, but it's not like they're cutting support entirely.

And I'm not 100%, but the Peanut gallery seems to think it's the DS, and not the 3DS, getting das boot. More sources would be required, since, well, commenters can be MASSIVE idiots, but this seems plausible.

Yeah, from what I've read after making this, they are dropping Wii and DS support, which isn't surprising considering both are on the way out anyways.

It's not saying they're dropping support... they're cutting support for the remainder of the fiscal year. The end of a console's life is usually when big budget games are produced but fail to bring in the big bucks, as everyone's waiting for the new system, so this isn't a massive surprise.
The only thing that's surprising is that Capcom announced it. Most companies will just slowly cut their support, or pour resources into upcoming systems.
I also guess that they DO mean 3DS... because early sales for the system have been slow, and it's still got to prove itself.
Capcom may be an awesome video game developer, but it's also a business that has to make business decisions on a regular basis. This is just a current business decision - nothing more, nothing less.

It does seem strange that they would drop 3DS support at this stage. The console still managed to sell around 3.5 million on release so that's a hell of a market share just to forget about.

So I take it that this is the end of the Ace Attorney series, right?
