E3 getting closer and some Kinect games are already getting previewed. I think we can all agree that this footage of Star Wars Kinect looks really bad, (LOOK AT THE INPUT LAG!) (around 45 seconds into the video) Yeah, I getting kind of bored . . .

Ahahahahha.
Less than 1.5 days before Nintendo's conference. I'm fully prepared for the show! (All I need is a browser with Flash Player installed, anyway; with two monitors, I can watch the video in my 2048*1152 screen and talk to people at the same time.)

I don't think I'll be covering Sony's conference either. Why? I could care less, that's why. Once I'm done with Nintendo, I'll have other things I really need to tend to, like finishing this week's Fantastic Fictional Females if I don't get it done today.

Just gave up on Microsoft's presentation. Same story as last year - all of this news is geared towards people who want to use their Xbox for everything other than video games.
Why is it great news that you can watch TV on your Xbox now? Don't you have to hook it up to a TV anyway? Isn't that already the TV's primary function?

Um, because not all display units are TVs?

I've never heard of anybody hooking a console up to anything but a TV (unless they're trying to record video from it).
Clearly Microsoft haven't either, because they've never shown anybody using an Xbox hooked up to anything else. They are specifically designed for HD TVs, after all.

I did, with a GameCube connected to my old monitor (better than having to wait for my family to finish watching) and my previous PC (like what you said; for recording) in different occasions. I've seen this setup elsewhere as well; once in my relative's home with a Dreamcast. Non-TV display units are usually cheaper than HDTVs.
But most of those exceptional uses don't involve the need to watch TV, so it's still pointless, I guess. Reminds me of those "Yo Dawg" meme images.

Don't get me wrong, I can see how it'd be useful in a very select set of circumstances... it just seems like a lot of hype over something that 99.9% of Xbox owners can already do by pressing a button on their TV remote (which, to me, seems like less effort than saying "Xbox TV Channel 6" or whatever you'll need to say to activate it).

The whole "TV on the 360 feature" is supposedly like cable TV channels are now viewable (for cheaper or free?) on the 360 (and Kinect functionallty for channel changing or something), only sounds good if you want to save money.

Anyone else watching any of the other conferences? I've currently got Ubisoft's on...

The only two I really care about are Nintendo's and Sony's... kinda. Actually I'm just curious how they're going to mention their PSN screw up, if at all. I just hope I'll be able to watch Nintendo's conference tomorrow without this lump of bolts freezing up

I watched all of them. Ubisoft's host was the most annoying man on the planet.

The Microsoft keynote in sum:
"Booooooooring, this is so booooooooring, this is so boooooooooring, get to the show"
I mean, at least there was some Halo stuff in there...but Halo doesn't do much for me anyway, so fuck it. XMen was a much better use of my time.

I'm not used to enthusiasm... but I was creeped out by their VP of Sales & Marketing, a dull, slow talking man trying to be excited about Just Dance and whatnot.
He sounded like a voyeur describing pole dancers.
