Copied from a reply to a wrong topic: - One of its soundtracks in Fire Emblem 11 is taken from FE9. Having never played the game though, I cannot tell where it takes place. (Track 33 here: Serenes Forest FE11 track listing) - FE12 has the same FE8 music in the same places (arena and training grounds), having reused many of the FE11 things. The FE9 battle music did not return. - In the same manner, FE8 has FE2 and FE4 music (FE8 arena battle = FE2 player phase battle, FE8 areana prepatation = FE4 prologue map theme). (I would view FE cameos to be too in-series, seeing that picking music from previous games, as well as recurring characters like the fourth wall-breaking Anna and the Ike-loving Aimee, are a series-wide tradition)

Any chance of tracking down a few more details on this for me? I don't know a lot about the Fire Emblem games... as I suck at them...

Maybe I can just tell you which are the original-cameo pairs of music. Before that though, you do know what an Arena in FE is, and what the Link Arena mode in the GBA games is, right? For the FE11 one, the cameo theme in question is there. I don't exactly know where it is (if anyone happens to read this and have played FE11, can you please confirm this?), but I think it is the battle theme for the Arena (the one in some of the maps, not the multiplayer battle mode). The theme is Track 33 of this Serenes Forest FE11 track listing. The source theme is the early (before Ike is made general of Begnion's imperial army) battle theme in FE9. See Track 11 here: Serenes Forest FE9 track listing. FE12 has the FE8 cameo as described in the FE11 page, but the FE9 music did not return and the Arena now uses original music. The "arena" I mentioned for FE8 refers to both the link arena and the in-map arena. Accessing the arena requires you to play the game, but the link arena can be entered from the main menu under the Extras item, so if you want to hear it in-game you can find it there. The entrance/preparation music is Track 58 in the FE8 track listing of Serenes Forest and the battle music is Track 59. The originals are Track 105 in the FE4 OST and Track 208 in Fire Emblem The Best Vol 1 soundtrack respectively. To hear the FE2 and FE4 music in-game, simply start a new game in these. Initiate a battle in FE2 to hear the tune, and in FE4's case, the music is right there once you have access to that square cursor thing famously in three of IntSys's series (and is therefore in the Prologue map). (For the shorthand names, FE2 = Gaiden FE4 = Geneology of the Holy War FE8 = The Sacred Stones FE9 = Path of Radiance FE11 = Shadow Dragon FE12 = New Mystery of the Emblem)
