* Please, PLEASE . . . have the e-Reader content . . .Couldn't agree more. It was rubbish that it wasn't available in Europe at all. I felt cheated.

Honestly that was the best part of that game. Those levels were so creative and mingled all sorts of Mario content in them.
By the way when do we get these downloads again?

You get the beta versions of the NES games (still not sure how this is a thing in the year 2011) on September 1, with the final versions coming at some point after. You get the GBA games some time in 2011.

www.nintendo.co.jp/3ds/ambassador/index.htmlNCL details the particulars of the program (which is still not a lot). Famicom: - No manual; manual will be available in the Nintendo website. The final version will have the manual included. - No simultaneous player (alternating multiplayer is supported). Final version is expected to include simultaneous multiplayer. - No interrupt save. HOME Menu is supported. Final version is expected to support interrupt save. - Can be transferred to other 3DS units. Game Boy Advance: - No manual. Manuals will be available from the Nintendo website. - No connectivity and no external hardware. (In other words, no World-e if SMA4 is there) - When pressing the HOME button, a simple dialog will come out; the HOME Menu itself cannot be accessed. - No interrupt save. - No sleep mode when closing the unit. - No SpotPass and StreetPass. - Can be transferred to other 3DS units. ...I think the so-called GBA VC is actually the system in DS mode, which in turn is in GBA mode. The limitations are also there for DS games, except for the sleep mode part, which is present in when playing GBA games in DS. The announced titles are still the same. SMB1, DK Jr, Balloon Fight, Zelda 1, Ice Climber, SMA3, MKSC, Fusion, WarioWare 1, MvsDK1, and 5 more NES / 5 more GBA.

At least we know that the games can be transferred to other to other 3DS units. Maybe if I don't see 10 GBA games I don't like, and if it's possible, I'd download Metroid Fusion and then gift that one to a friend and then download it myself. If not, then tough apples.
Getting my 3DS tomorrow. I'd only have OoT 3DS and the 20 free games, but with my next semester, I think I'll be fine until the other 3DS games come out. I'm really interested in how the 3D looks and affects my sight.

It says that they have no plans on releasing the GBA games in the future? What's up with that? They should have it available eventually for everyone. Oh well at least I'm an Ambassador, I still feel sorry for other people who will never get a chance for these games.

They've been pretty careful with their wording of that. They didn't say they'll never be available, they just said they haven't made plans yet.
If GBA games will make them money, I expect they'll appear eventually.

My thoughts exactly. Just with the Op. Rainfall conundrum, they said no current plans to do so, but that doesn't mean they'll change opinion *shakes fists at all those illiterate guys who act as if NoA said "no plan, now or future, to release those games, ever"*
Heck, I'm pretty sure the official message sent a few days ago said "no current plans". As far as I know, that means that they could plan to release said games for the public, at a price.

I'd say no plan means no. That's not a definite way to say it, but NOA seems to hate RPG-like games recently. At least we know that the games can be transferred to other to other 3DS units. Maybe if I don't see 10 GBA games I don't like, and if it's possible, I'd download Metroid Fusion and then gift that one to a friend and then download it myself. If not, then tough apples. Sorry, no. It's the same thing as transferring from DSi to 3DS - it's all-or-nothing. Either transfer all games (except the ones that cannot be transferred, like the DSi Flipnote Studio) with the save files killed, or no transfer is made at all. I don't know if it is possible to transfer, format and re-download everything again (formatting the system will not erase the eShop usage record); but I'd say that doesn't worth trying, since formatting DOES get your other data (StreetPass comes to mind) killed.EDIT - on second thought, transferring will move the Ambassador status to the new unit, so I guess it's not possible.

On the eShop news they also use the words "available exclusively" that's also worrying.

I am debating whether to go get the 3DS now or wait till the price cut. I mean, I already have most of the GBA games they listed... and I am not too keen on most of the free NES games. How many times do they have to re-release the original Super Mario Bros. in the last 10 years? We had it on the GBA as Classic NES Series. We had it on the Wii Virtual Console. It is also in Super Mario All-Stars which is just an exact port of the original SNES version that I already have. It is also in the special red Wii with all the ? blocks replaced with "25" blocks, which is totally unnecessary. I would be more excited if one of those 20 free games were Super Mario Bros. Deluxe for the Game Boy Color instead, you know? However, like Koopaul said.. it is worryingly that these 20 games are available exclusively to the Ambassadors and not to everyone. Damn Nintendo for making me feel it is urgent to get the 3DS right now.

If you can go to a store like Best Buy, they will give you a refund of the eighty dollars when the price drop goes into effect. Also, Walmart has already dropped the price before the other stores, so you can get the games and the discount today.

Okay, I just went on www.walmart.com and it still says $249.99. Maybe that's only online and the price is cut in the stores.
