Which Characters do you think will actaully be playable in the next SSB? Keep in mind that I'm not asking about characters you want to be in, granted your free to share those as well, but the ones you believe will have the best chance of being in the next game. I beleive these characters will be playable: Pit Kid Icarus He should have been in SSBM to begin with. Starfy Legend of Starfy Japan only as of the moment, but his game already has a second sequel and Starfy even made a cameo in Super Star Saga. Wario Wario series Another character that should have been in SSBM. King Dedede Kirby series SSB is made by Hal and there is only really one HAL character in it(Kirby), again I'm surprised he wasn't in SSBM. Just for the hell of it my list of characters I want in the next SSB: Michael Anderson Battle Clash series I just really like this series and would like to see it in some way (even a trophy) in the next SSB. Lip Panel De Pon Not one I really want but one that I beleive will have a slight chance of being in the next one, kind of like the Ice Climbers just showing up out of no where for SSBM. Takamaru Nazo no Murasame Jou I just really like this character for some reason and think that he will fit well in the game. Duck Hunt Dog Duck Hunt I don't want him to be playable so much as a pallette swap for Mr. Sand Bag or an equelvilant. BTW yes I know that this topic has Probably been done many times I just felt like asking it.

I'd like to think Wario is pretty much a given now. I'm completly amazed he didn't make it into either of the other ones.... as I think everyone else is too.

With all of Wario's moves and attitude... it was a crying shame not to be able to unlock him in SSBM... but we'll see him in a SSB game yet!

I'd like to see King Dedede or Meta Knight playable... I think perhaps Diddy Kong may show up, since he's been appearing a lot more often lately. Perhaps some F-Zero characters like Black Shadow or Jody Summer, since F-Zero seems to have become more popular since SSBM.

I don't think both Wario and Pit will be in the next one. They are probably the two most wanted characters, Nintendo will want to spread them out. They can't add all the popular characters in one game or else they won't have anything left for the next one.

I don't think Pit is really high on Nintendo's "popular character" list, seeing as how he's not been in a game for over a decade - and seeing as how Nintendo tends to put characters in SSBM so they can raise awareness of them before releasing a dozen sequels, having Pit in it would be an exciting prospect! So I don't think there would be a problem of Pit AND Wario in the next one.
Wario: He should obviously be in it. Maybe he should replace Bowser (I don't think there should really be more Mario series characters than there already are).
ROB the Robot or Sukapon: There's no robotic characters in SSBM! ROB could carry a Zapper for an extra attack if Gyro spinning seems a little weak. Sukapon is the hero of Joy Mecha Fight - Nintendo's only fighting game aside from SSBM (oh, alright, and Urban Champion). But he's a cute pink robot that twirls, throws its head, and somersaults! I don't know which HAL/Nintendo would choose, but having no robots is a terrible oversight.
I reckon at least one stage will be based on The Wind Waker though.
As for already existing characters changing: Mario and Luigi should be further separated. Luigi needs his vacuum, but Mario should stay as he is (as giving him a pump just makes him more like Luigi again). Fox should have his staff. I know SFA sucked, but Fox's attacks were cool nonetheless. Link (who knows which) will probably use some items from TWW or the new Zelda - and his alternate colours will become those from Four Swords. Kirby's alternate colours will also, I imagine, become those from Amazing Mirror.
I really don't want Diddy Kong or King Dedede in it. They're too "obvious" as filler characters to me. Maybe as clones of Donkey and Kirby (I hope there are no clones, but still)... If they managed to fit a lot more characters into the game then I wouldn't mind as much... but I'd rather some thought was put into it.

Okay, Nintendo recognises the strength of their brand names, and as well as promoting some of these through a popular game like SSBM (before releasing dozens of them onto the market), they also threw in a couple that were there for different reasons. Roy was one of the most accessable and strong characters in SSBM, made so because if he was weak (ala. Pichu) then his game would not sell. I noticed the same with SSB on the N64 - characters with games coming out soon, or strong brands, were favoured over the smaller brands. I think Kirby is the most accessable character in SSB, just before the release of Kirby games. Notice how Captain Falcon and Samus were "nostalgic delights" in SSB, but by SSBM there was to be none of that - because Nintendo wanted these brands to be pushed for new releases. The same could be said for many of the characters, even Ness who, while not in a new game by himself, was released into the world in Mother 1+2 not long after. What about those that haven't had games released since then (not including NES Classics). I write the following from the words of the creators on the Japanese SSBM website: The Ice Climbers: Nintendo wanted characters who represented the Famicom, and HAL played with all sorts of Famicom characters, settling on the Ice Climbers for their character and choice of weapons. Excellent choice, but when it meant there was to be no Clu Clu Land, Excitebike and Urban Champion characters (the others that were shortlisted) then some of us were saddened. Still, I have no doubt that Ice Climbers would not have been in the first series of NES Classics if they had not been in SSBM. Dr. Mario: Only included because they wanted Dr. Mario's music in the game. Ness: A quick note on Ness... he was originally going to be the boy in Mother 3, but since that game was cancelled, Ness was called back from service in SSB. Nintendo then released Mother 1+2, and if rumour is to be true then Mother 3 could still be on its way on another console. Maybe that's what HAL have been up to (or SSB DS, which is another rumour floating about courtesy of a leak over at Camp Hyrule). Marth: Included as he is the icon of Fire Emblem, even though we don't know it. His inclusion (and Roy's) will no doubt confuse some people who ran out to buy Fire Emblem as soon as it was announced. Still, he was included to boost awareness of the Fire Emblem series. Anyway, those are my thoughts on the matter. I reckon Pit would only be included IF Nintendo were to revive him again, and Wario will be included because Nintendo knows that he should be... really

True, I remeber reading things like that when a guy on the IGN forums was translating the japanese SSBM website. Tuesdays and Thursdays havn't felt the same since.
Hmm... I now wonder if Captain Olimar or a pikmin will be in the next SSB.

I don' t think Diddy is a bad inclusion myself. If you read in my other topic, I had fancied the idea of Diddy and Dixie being a team, ala Ice Climber, but being able to switch and have different abilities, ala Sheik.

Perhaps if Pikmin were included they could be very small, but you control a large group of them. Following a tiny Olimar, perhaps...

Perhaps if Pikmin were included they could be very small, but you control a large group of them. Following a tiny Olimar, perhaps... Assuming most of the realistic humanoid male characters are about 6 feet tall, Pichu (and Pikachu and Jigglypuff, too) looks way much bigger than the height that is listed for him in the Pokémon games. They could make Captain Olimar as big as Mr. Game & Watch, and it would still be acceptable. And I hate clones, but isn't it weird how good would Captain Olimar have worked as a Peach clone is SSBM? Look: Replace B attack that constists of pulling out Toad with pulling out a Pikmin. Replace B+up attack that consists of pulling out a Parasol with pulling one of the lightest Pikmin, somehow fuctioning as a parachute. Replace B+down attack that consists of pulling out a vegetable from the ground with pulling out a Pikmin from the ground. Replace B+forward attack Peach Bomber with Captain Olimar going sideways in a similar manner but with a Pikmin with a bomb-rock attached to it.
