Stuff like this makes me wonder about the amount of canon immigrants in Nintendo games, given the fairly large amount of other media Nintendo stuff has had. Off hand, only the Crystal Coconuts, the chandelier dragon from Golden Sun and Commercial Falcon come to mind.
Maybe Toad's voice. I've always thought its sounded like the voice from Super Show since Sunshine, but really, how likely is that?

Well, if the last two games are any indication it looks like the F-Zero series has pretty much turned into an adaptation of its own anime. XD

That's cheating though. It's like using Pokemon Puzzle League as an example.

I dunno... Pokémon Puzzle League was just a one-off thing, and it was surrounded by games that weren't based on the anime. It's been almost ten years since we got any new F-Zero material that didn't take place in the anime's universe. It feels a little like they've replaced the old stuff with it.

Hm, you've got a point there. Thing is, it's been half a decade since we got any new F-Zero games since, what? 2005?
In general, F-Zero has been a dead series recently...

It happened a little bit. They've been using the anime design for Dedede's Castle for a while, and one of the games (maybe Mouse Attack?) had the NME monster transporter room as the place where you fight Dedede. Didn't one of Mouse Attacks new abilities come from the anime too? I forget which... Water, recently seen in Return and seen in Kirby GC, was also from the anime. Kinda weird it took them this long for a water Kirby though.

Bump!
Here's one of those development cameos. The Popopo Islands are named after an in development name for Kirby from before they chose the name Kirby. You can verify that bit in the book that came with the Kirby Dream Collection.
