There's more of Animal Crossing for the 3DS (and still as samey as ever).
Why they didn't show it at E3 is beyond the shit out of me. (Or maybe the same guy behind it wanted to prioritize his other project, Nintendo Land)

Because E3 is a dying format. With the internet allowing for ability to stream announcements like this at any time of the year, why feel the need to put your news out across a week where every man and his dog is doing the same with their news?
Nintendo gets to be a 'top story' today. Back in E3 week, they would be sharing that spot.
Its time to let E3 go, guys. Its dead.

2 things...
1) Increased battery life for the 3DSLL REALLY!! I dont care about the bigger screens, but this along with that art game, might do it.
2)Didnt Nintendo own a small fraction of Bandai and due to the Merge Namco Bandai?

I think Nintendo exchanged their stock in Bandai for control over Monolith Soft. I'm pretty sure I read that Namco was afraid that Nintendo would stop the merger, so they made a deal.

I liked the comment about the DLC for NSMB2 was being made after the full development of the game had finished.
While supposedly Western game developers (Bioware is confirmed to do this) make the entire game and when that end game content is being bug tested/finalised/process, they start working on DLC (because they have nothing else to do) which gets avalible to download on release day causing everyone to get pissed about cut content from the disc release to make more money.
Personally I like the sound of what Nintendo is doing, even though there is no actual release date for the DLC.
The chat section was freaky as tons of people really, really wanted Animal Crossing to be shown.

Why they didn't show it at E3 is beyond the shit out of me. (Or maybe the same guy behind it wanted to prioritize his other project, Nintendo Land) Probably because (like I said at the time) they were using E3 to show only releases coming in 2012. Come on, guys, we all knew they had other stuff in production. Everything at E3 was coming in time for Christmas. It takes more than six months to make a game. Do the math.

3ds LL confirmed. i.imgur.com/dUBVF.jpg90% bigger screens (!!!) Increased battery life Available in White, Red/Black, Silver/Black And still no second circle pad. I just can't understand not putting another one there, with that much space to work with. Sigh, I might as well get this since the 3DS games I really want are coming very soon...

they can't add something that would change how the games work, because then it would mean that games made for a second circle pad would be crap or not work on the original 3DS model.

I thought people hated the circle pad anyway? Why would they want two?

Last I checked the circle pad was the most welcome addition. It does wonders for 3D games, for instance.

It doesn't bother me, I just know that I've only ever seen people complaining about it. I'm not sure exactly what's supposed to be wrong with it.

The circle pad can be awkward for certain games, I find. Like when playing Advance Wars, I find myself wanting to use the awkwardly-placed D-Pad instead, because the circle pad is a little too loose and may over shoot where I want my unit to go.
But it's an incredibly minor complaint that pales in comparison to how much nicer the circle pad is for other stuff.

Iwata has announced a new Nintendo Direct occurring tomorrow at 4am Pacific Time. No Wii U news, that's coming Sept 13, but there will be news for 3DS and Wii. I expect the main games to be discussed are Animal Crossing, Paper Mario, Project X Zone, and Samurai Warriors Chronicles 2nd. Perhaps the first DLC details for New Super Mario Bros 2 will be announced?
